Okie very long didn't post. Busy mah.

Busy doesn't mean 99% schoolwork (which many people in general like to claim so). Also includes lots of time for sleeping, eating, walking/relaxing, playing, etc.

As again, due too many things, it will be split into a few posts lols.

I want to talk about oldschool characters and boliao chain letters leh. Think next next next post or what.

Dated from 21jan09 (tomorrow is march liao lols), wednesday.

Ancient chinese words are chio.
(We all figuring out which words are what. Can see and , but most are like unreadable lo lols.)

Copic cool-grays.

Free buffet during night class.
(Not exactly meant for us, but i think they probably had too much leftover, so they called all the remaining students still in school and the cleaning aunties to eat as well.)

People mingling.

Boliao with the projector.

Lols sibei lame.
AC (lecturer): Why are you guys carrying this thing all over the place?
Kaihong: Because shaun says he wants to drink.
Shaun: Eh wth.

Some sort of mini showcase on japanese cultural products or what.
(You see the projector wall bounded by a nice train illustration layout.)

Back to boring lecture in a dark (sleepy) room, where everyone did their own stuffs as usual.

23jan09, friday, journey day.

Apparently, this is a nonsensical exercise on exploring the various curve types.

Was indeed a spontaneous long journey (with hours of pure walking) i attempted this time.

Journey route (in chronological order):
Nafa, arab st, cityhall, clarke quay, chinatown, all the way up to great world city via havelock rd.

I saw a sleeping cat in arab st, under a parked motorcycle.

And it's like so cute that it has been my msn dp for so long.

And i also saw a pigeon up close (-.- boliao).

Very nice scenery at clarke quay, even if it's not night time.

I like this ancient chinese doorway of the preserved chinatown medical hall.

The family and juvenile court building along havelock road, with pretty columns.

Tunnel section of CTE, viewed from an overhead bridge.

26jan09, cny which young people generally do not enjoy.

I really don't understand why people would like beetles on their tablecloth while dining.

Not a comforting thought with a noob driver like my bro lols.

30jan09, friday.

My bunch of weird furniture (especially the butt chair wth).

One of my favourites, but too narrow liao the area. Like the shadow lols.

Enjoy making woody lines (although this first time a bit zzz).

My favourite paper that absorbs all the seeped ink from below.

Collection as of january (now got even more le yay).

Samples and examples chioness.

Cher's landscape demo.

My stupid wire sculpture looks like a bird (the blue part and the eye is artificially added using com).

Peranakan museum fieldtrip.

Some random stuffs.

Beaded embroideries.

We said this was rather scary.
Cus looked like vampires mah somehow lols watch too much tv.

Pink series dining ware.

The museum entrance's cat. Very realistic proportions.
Looks really good in real life, photo didn't do justice.

By chance, just got to know my late ah-chor (gone when i was around 7 years old) is a nyonya last month's cny (why nobody ever told me this). So technically this makes me a hokkien peranakan, but i have neither sense of belonging nor affection to this ethnic group. I don't have the love for those kuehs or the cuisine itself, and don't know the language/culture or whatsoever.

Grown up speaking cantonese and eating granny's cantonese dishes during my childhood times, i relate more to my maternal side.

I consider myself more of a cantonese rather than paternal hokkien or nyonya whatsoever.
Laobu: Where got like that one? Dialects follow father de mah, where got people follow mother's?
Me: Why cannot? Nowadays there are people choosing mother's surname instead of father's surname. And we are no longer in the past, now both genders are fair 男女平等, no more 重男轻女 already what. So correct what, i can choose to be cantonese. I can't even speak hokkien.
