LOLS after almost half a year of hiatus, post is up again!

No no, blog is definitely not dead. Just too much things to do in so little time.

-

So many months to catch up, namely november to may. -_-
So this is november, at least 5 more months to catch up with now.

November highlights:
- Moving house (from bedok reservoir to bedok north)
- 3D modelling assessment (modelling and rendering of diamond ear stud)
- Facial washes' reviews
- Recycled paper full-scale chair (pair-work furniture studio project)
- Research seminar assessment (simulated interview for scholarship)
- Gb camp (me and zhili in charge of second day's sentosa activities and nightwalk)
- East coast ton with lg

Yes, long post without saying. Plenty of external links too. Here it goes.

Packing for moving.

Rhino (software), modelling complete.

Finally saw the bottle-recycling machine in singapore. It is located in ntuc fairprice at city square mall (farrer park), the acclaimed singapore's first eco-mall.

Such machine is common in many countries, except singapore. It exchanges your used bottle for some credits for shopping. Haven't tried it yet though.

Chair's progress.

Dug out an old photograph.
I can't lie to say that i don't think i look uber cute when i was young. XD

Cheap korean canned drinks to try.
The chocolate one (right) is really nice if you like milo, however the rice one (left) is totally awful in my opinion.
(Had to force myself very hard to finish the weirdly-sweet rice drink, cus i don't like wastage.)

Raw fish (and roes) is love!

I collect a lot of nonsense, had to throw rubbish out when moving.
My facial washes in chronological order. Recent-most at the right, and earliest at left.
From left: Za (with micro beads), missha (acerola cherry), nivea visage (jade seah at the sticker lols), thefaceshop (lemon) and the body shop (seaweed).

My reviews (may be inaccurate and subjective).
Za (official info) facial cleansing foam: with vitamin E granules, used during my mid-teenage, the massaging microbeads felt good, not so sure about oil/pimple control, at least no major breakouts, what do you think of my face (in photos) during younger days?
Missha (official info) botanic garden purifying foam cleanser acerola: seriously pleasant and sweet cherry scent, with very fine grains for scrub, white and foamy, oil/pimple control unsure.
Nivea visage (unofficial info) deep pore control foam: very typical foam, slightly harsh and oil returns after some hours, okay but can do better.
Thefaceshop (official info) herb day cleansing foam purifying lemon: not efficient for me, pimple control not good, disturbingly smells like washing powder for laundry instead of fresh lemon scent, seriously doubt the "natural" in it.
The body shop (official info) seaweed deep cleansing facial wash: slightly cooling gel, feels light and comfortable, efficiency of oil/pimple control so-so, insufficient for me though.

Now using simple (official info) moisturising foaming facial wash for the second tube, gotta switch brands after this. Skin getting immunity and harder to control pimple at the moment. Too weak for a gel-wash meant for dedicate skin (although i like the fact that i can easily wash the skin near my eyes without worry) instead of oil control.

Next shall maybe try skinfood (a bit overpriced though if not wrong, according my memory) or use back some old brands i've used years ago.

Well, maybe it's not the facial washes' fault. Probably my skin has aged and my workload has increased tremendously in recent years, with the lack of sleep and stuffs.

Packing packing. I couldn't bear to box up my flobby, too precious lols. Took by hand to new place, instead of sending through mover truck although flobby is quite big. Laptop also bringing it personally for fear of losing it, and just can't imagine how many heavy boxes squashing it. -__- Bloody heavy cus gotta carry my bro's com over as well, since he was in tekong that time.

Was wearing old/dirty/spoilt shoes since there was a lot of mess when packing.
Next day presentation assessment, it was the only pair of covered shoes i had with me then. -.-
My other shoes were all packed inside tons of boxes cannot find in short term zzzzz.
Btw that's shoes for secondary school LOLS. Whichever pure-black areas you see are seriously holes.

Show you some works, modelled after a selected object, which is my big diamond stud, mmm.

Not real diamond on my ear stud of course. Just saying "diamond" for the purpose of rendering effects/outcome.

Some sort of exploded view of the ear stud.

Default rhino renderer results in a image that isn't of good quality at all.

Ready for some magic?

If yes, then scroll.

Using bunkspeed hypershot to render (their tagline "render them speechless", like LOLS, true for rendering gems though).

A close-up render to show the facets of the "diamond".

Alright just checked the official site again. Now no more bunkspeed hypershot, they have a new version called bunkspeed shot.
Wth. -_______-

Living one bus stop away from bedok 85 market, we had bbq sambal stingrays yayyay.

Full-scale recycled-paper furniture, pair-work studio project.

A very-tired wanteng fell asleep after lunch. And people started to put paper flowers all around for her to rest in peace, with many trying to take pictures without being caught.

Structure up.

Meiqi and co's wolf chair.

Yaowang and co's poker card chair.

Life when studying design is apparently not easy.
No one have good nights and could sleep tight.
To make things worst, the average salary in this industry is quite sad.
(Noooo, i want money to get hdb and family fast fast... T_T Almost a decade's wait, down the road. Ahhhh noooo.)

Paper surfacing, made from inverted drinks carton.

Some father bringing her daughter for junior arts class, kaypoh-ing about these people with sad lives (thankfully it's temporary phew, but some years of sufferings leh).

Ready.
(Yes, we do know the paper furnishings look like bloody weird. No choice liao, not enough time to do something better. Students here are always racing against time.)
But i do like the fact that you can put things at the back of the chair hehheheh.

Stolen image of me drawing 1:1 scale technical drawings at the last hours.

Security guard chasing all of us out after 11pm. Zzzzz.
Btw many of them use luggage to store/transport newspapers for their paper-chair project, LOLS.

Proceeded to jasmine's house to finish up the work in the last few hours.
Some supper to replenish energy level for burning midnight oil, stolen image.

Finishing up with last hours' work.

Headed to school in morning peak-hour sardine train.

Our assessment booth, displaying the technical drawings, presentation boards, study models, sketches, research and documentations, blah.

I actually find that there is some kind of beauty in structural technical drawings.

And tadah, that was over. *claps* Phew.

So glad that ntuc is opening 24hours. (Only available some branches.) Great for my midnight shopping after work.
But hor~ There were only like one or two cashiers open, the queue was bloody long and i need to rush for my last bus.

Now the situation is getting better than ever. They fixed the problem soon after, by having about five cashiers open during weekend midnights. =D Totally solved the crazy midnight queues. Happy happy.

Cheers to them for reacting fast to issues, unlike the two bus operators in singapore.
Being monopolised, we had to take these buses bobian.

Having two bus operators doesn't create a competition for service improvement, it's still a monopoly since we often only can take a certain bus for convenience.
How to make competition for them sia, duo-policy ya right.

LOLS if you do read thetemasekreview, they always say the next one please vote wisely... Afterall it still boils down to how they treat this island's "world-class" (very doubtful) transportation for commoners like me and you.
(Cannot read too much ttr, it gets really depressing zzz.)

One link to share. DO READ. Qatar sounds like the future of singapore.
Btw Qatar is a rich nation in the middle east, with citizens as minorities. From what i last read, it is said that 36% of people in singapore are foreigners. It means about three people you see on the streets, one of them is foreign to us.

Anyway.

A talk by toshiyuki kita in lasalle. One of his works include the sharp aquos tv which everybody knows. Some other works can be found here.

He is a sincere-looking old man with plentiful of smiles. There was a translator while he spoke in japanese. He is also not very tall, but seems to be rather friendly.

I did figure out that i am one who shouldn't really attend talks, cus i am unable to pick up much. And i have limited patience too. There is a tendency to find talks boring. This is a personal characteristic problem. I prefer activities that are more hands-on. =C

Wasted money on some cakes origami set LOLS.

Lg suggested trying potato farmland, and hence we headed to yishun (lols such a random location).
In the picture from top left: blackcurrant drink, cheddar pops, cheese sticks and ham 'n' cheese baked potato.

Not totally awesome, can eat though. But location is too far and inconvenient to go a second time.
Nice place for those with potato and cheese cravings. Rather affordable too. Cosy little shop.
The website does a great job by making the food in their interactive menu look tempting.

I looked like crap, but i kinda like how lg looked there lols.

The pet beds nowadays are really bloody cute. Makes me go "awww" leh.

Bro brought me to eat teppanyaki after booking out of camp. And we bought a bday cake for the aging mother.

Flooding~

Outdoor cooking for the gb camp day one.

Research seminar assessment.

Had to wait all students to get done and be debriefed.

Gonna be late for the coach to sentosa for gb camp day 2.
-________- But still got a lot of time, required to wait for it till the end zzz.
Hence took pictures and pictures, cus nothing to do anyway.

The next eight images below are not mine though.

People who know me, know that i often stick out like a sore thumb in group shots, cus i really suck at positioning myself.

Boliao-ism (can tell from the rows of waiting people).

Image 1.

Image 2, with more people joining.

Me, yanni and sunke.

Azri, me, yanni and sunke.

Jasmine and shaun, from neighbour class.
This school has too many jasmines and shauns. -_-
My class also has a jasmine and a shaun.

Not the first time making use of school's stainless steel ceiling in lift.

Gb camp day two, sentosa.

Itinerary for the day.

Escalator to mount imbiah.

Planting light sticks as a quest for nightwalk in the jungle later.
Thankfully nobody took/stole our lightsticks away.
I love that the jungle has no significant source of light at night. =D

Setting up treasure hunt.

As a start of a whole chain of journey ahead, travelling in their own small groups on this island.

No pictures of nightwalk.
(Lols even if took already, also can only see pure black.)

These cookies i bought from ntuc is actually not bad. It is made with similar folding method as the croissant, causing layers of flakes and crisps in the pastry, as shown on the right image (albeit being not clear enough).

Dug out some skirts which i haven't been wearing for the past year(s).

Saw flobby was so cute right before i sleep.

Day out and ton with lg.

Petit fours at carrefour. So cute that i had to eat them.

Bought them, yay.
Forgot the flavours le, but a reference to the above picture shows that i've got strawberry mousse (top right) and chocolate mousse (bottom right). Remembered that i had something on passionfruit (should be the bottom middle one) and hazelnut (somewhere).

Taste-wise okie-okie only. But enough to make me happy, lols. I like dainty cakes.

Late night dinner at lagoon. The stall with a lot of articles praising the charsiew.
Charsiew was indeed good.
But mee sucks big time. -______- Flour-y taste. And lg's rice not even warm.

Ha ha digging out that carrefour rice pack bought earlier on.

Yay mcd big breakfast.

Lg says i looked a bit like a particular taiwan actress in this picture, i agree so.

Saw this pair of cats at eunos on the way home.
They are good buddies leh so cute that i even posted in icanhascheezburger.

-

Alright end of post. Finally can sleep, i see daylight already.

December post has baking potatoes, pet bird, gingerbread man and alvin and the chipmunks. Quite little content, hopefully can be done by the next day.

=D Night, shall go sleep.
