I was actually pretty curious regarding the function of the cloth, being required to be so freaking long. LOLS. It's even way longer than a bedsheet or blanket. Alright, i think rapunzel was inside.

Chef potato trying to fry his own family and friends.

This is as ridiculous as the cheerful shrimp which danced happily to the instant noodles music (getting cooked in the end anyway) in a particular commercial advertisement i used to watch when i was young.

Sandwich time, served with tomato and potato cubes in italian dressing.

Boring brownies and ice cream again, but comfort food never fails.

Three musketeers in very-light brown, brown and very-dark brown.

I really like textured walls.

That was the first and most probably the only time i see white and purple capsicums in a supermarket - i somehow never did see them again. I felt like o.0 when i saw it. Novelty!

I guess these aren't as popular as the usual yellow-red-green ones and not many would buy them when these are actually slightly more expensive (perhaps due to the rarity).

Tiny live xmas trees are cute.

And how about some artificial but GIGANTIC xmas trees standing at only 16 inches?

LOLS and i could never forgot one classic scene i encountered many years ago. A rather tall and huge guy was queueing at kfc, wearing the staff shirt of giant supermarket. The back of his shirt read: GIANT. I was thinking: well, a giant indeed...

Usual overflow-with-food instant noodles again.

The resident fly in my bathroom. Crane fly, or also known as daddy longlegs.

They look like huge mosquitoes (although they don't bite at all) and it's always really irritating to see them flying around (even if wiki says some of their larvae may feed on mosquitoes' larvae). Conclusion: i smack them almost every day.

On a side note, i've always loved their small bread rolls with butter (pictured top left). Nommily yum.

Had to model out some door around the campus' vicinity as well.
I chose a toilet cubicle's door. I liked my "tiles".

The choice of human figurine was based on lucky draw. So mine was supposed to be modelled after a classmate. By the way, the black thing on the arm is actually a dumbbell.

Annoyingly, this particular classmate did not model me for his figurine! He went to model his sweetheart gf... Arghhhh! Should have informed me earlier so i won't follow the rules to model him out. -_____- Felt like wasted effort.

Now that i look at the image, it seemed as if that the physique was inspired by my lg because it somewhat uncannily resembles his body mass. -.- Wth.

Meet the ham stylist.

This was a meal largely inspired by our previous "fine dining restaurant" major project whereby we even had to (waste money stupidly to) purchase our own sets of fine dining cutlery and dishwares.

So that day, we all brought our wares to contribute to the home-cooked dinner setup.

A roasted turkey costs over ten times than roasted chicken (pictured on the right).
Obviously its relative, chicky, was the most practical way out. =)

Here's the breakdown of food we prepared and consumed. Dinner for six.

Some items on our menu include the quoc's specialty vietnamese salad (it was spicy, slightly sour and made with mainly chicken and beansprout) and yanni's specialty carbonara (which can be seen uncovered in the following image ha ha).

Glorious, gracious food. =D Me love eating and cooking noms.

Strangely, we did not have pictures with the guys inside. -__- LOLS not my fault.

The guys bought a overpriced log cake. But it was trio flavoured!

That ended the day. Or night. =)

LOLS long delay. Longer than expected.

Anyhoo, you're lucky.

This post for november 2010 is pretty short as compared to previous ones, and there are two videos too.

And 'anyhoo' is not a typographic error. It is intentional. Hee hee.

Okie then.

Had my overweight shoulder-bag at 6 kilogrammes wtf. It was so unhealthy for the shoulders, which are prone to severe aching all these while even till now.

Adding up the hand-held notebook, it meant that i lugged close to 8 kilogrammes worth of stuffs to school almost everyday. Thankfully i don't do that anymore.

Chinese classmate at lunch ordered two sunny-side-ups to go with his fried rice. The lady boss served this plate and said, "I didn't do this!" LOLS.
Mmm i really kinda miss my favourite tomato fried rice there. Especially when it's a cool, hungry night.

Went to play nation, a games cafe, for hua's bday.

Mario-themed room with wii console.

Had fun with cute rayman raving rabbids, guitar hero (i still find the guitar hard to use zz, while being the lead singer's the easiest - you score high even if it's out of tune or wrong lyrics) and dance dance revolution.

Actually intended for yn to upload on her youtube since she was the camerawoman. But it has been more than a year. And so there it is.

East-siders had nothing better to do while taking the transit.

My dear meh-mehs still inside the glass display of the shop after a year (although the latest update from lg is that, the shop owner will be keeping them hidden till next month's valentine's day wtf so upset). They are so cuteee. Began to look a wee bit like monkey though LOLS.

That was 9:51am and full of taxis along middle road outside campus.

All sorts of "smoke" coming out from my food. There were the steam from ramen soup and mist/haze (i can't seem to find a better term for it) from the cold chestnut drink.

Peng, the penguin, and flo, the flowered tofu, are good friends.

Btw i never understood why ma only buys pink bedsheets zzz.

Picked up the napkin/serviette-folding method from the net.

And to go along with the folded serviette, i made squared sandwiches with just plain butter, served with simple hard-boiled egg and potato cubes in honey mustard dressing. LOLS.

Looking at it now makes me feel hungry.

For laobu's bday.

This bagel from the supermart was really disappointing. It was way too hard, dry and tasteless (so-called cinnamon and raisin flavour were insufficient). And the marketing issue i had - this bagel was clearly not made in new york city LOLS, confirmed by the "product of singapore" at the back.

Comfort food: home-assembled brownies and ice cream. Made with cheapo fourleaves brownies which crumbled quite badly after warming it, probably because i kept it in the freezer for very very long.

Used to collect the feathers dropped from the lovebird, then washed, left to dry and stored in the glass jar. Ha ha.

Had dinner with yn and jas at bedok hawker.

After meal, we attempted the big watermelon dessert. Its name on the menu is 大西瓜 yup.

First time doing a spur-of-the-moment chocolate milk tea with milk tea, ice and hershey's chocolate syrup in the metal shaker. Not bad.

October, fine dining, yn's bday, horse racing.

Hi again.

Continuing with the october 2010 post, consisting of fine dining, miss lim's 21st bday, horsies running and other miscellaneous stuffs. The post is not that short, just a note.

If you have not read the previous post(s), you can click on "OLDER POSTS" at the bottom of this page. Would be rushing out to finish the 2010 backlogged stuffs these few days, since it is nearly 2012 already zzz. So updates are more frequent these days.

The first day of october always happens to be children's day whee. Day out with the usual peeps.

Talking about wonton (or wanton or wantan) mee, there are generally three variants for it. Or probably calling them as two mutants might be more apt.

The so-called original one is the hongkong/cantonese version.
Then comes the malaysian version with dark sauce (as illustrated above - the pontian wonton mee cafe).
And third version, there is this singapore version with ketchup sauce (oh wth).
I have always eaten the cantonese variant since young. Some times i still get a shock of disappointment when i order wonton mee and uncle gives me the one with ketchup. Zzzzzz.
I keep forgetting that most wonton mees sold locally drench the dense and non-springy starchy meekia in ketchup sauce, all because my childhood wonton mee morning stall at the hawker did not sell mee with ketchup.
And maybe for the fact that my long-ago ancestors are from canton. Not like taste can be inherited anyway, boohoo. (Maybe it does? Not sure mm.)

But why ketchup??? Who the heck invented such combo?
LOLS this might upset many people who like the ketchup version.

So nice of us to neatly stack the dishes so they could have an easier time clearing our table when we leave. =D

Since we have never taken any neoprints together before, then why not?

Lols i some times feel kinda strange if i'm taller than the people standing beside me. Because meiqi is already quite small sized, and my 10cm heels further fuelled my giantism-feel. -__-

I don't quite agree when people deem neoprint as outdated, for kids or something. In my humble opinion, this is a cheaper alternative to studio photography for fun, joy and laughter (LOLS this isn't my own words, more like a quote from some lg).

Upon seeing it now, i then realise there's a rilakkuma bear up there, oh my... HAHAHAHAS.
If you haven't spotted it yet, it's at the bottom-right image and the bear is located at the top-right corner of that image.
Okie maybe it's not meant to be rilakkuma but simply a look-alike. But still... Or well, maybe it might be indeed a rilakkuma.

It's not common to find a swing nowadays.

So it made me really happy to sit on one, when lg said there's one near his neighbourhood.

No, wasn't doing a lame pose. Just wanted to brush off flying-hair from my face. And it turned out like this.

Sharing ice ~~kacang~~ cliffcang with yn while i eat my rice first. So i told her to leave half for me. And it ended up as a cliff heehee.

Happened to wore similar outfits to class.

Lady boss bought marshmellow chocolate from australia for me, and it's quite huge in my opinion.

Met up with jasmine and had breads at provence for lunch.

So we reccee-d for some shops selling macarons and did some small-scale taste-test and market research, so we can decide on where to buy them next week.

Had to do fine dining restaurant case study for restaurant design project. You are expected to dine at one to see the workflow of the restaurant and stuffs. Honestly, this was rather monetary consuming. $$$ wth.

Quoc and yn were doing on french cuisine, while elisa and me were on italian. So we decided to visit both to have some light dishes.

This particular french restaurant in a shophouse had a open-concept kitchen that wasn't really nice to focus on. Especially you see people rushing in and out. The ambiance and service were not that pleasant too.

My dessert would take fifteen minutes to arrive or something. So we had to wait. After awhile, the waitress told us my souffle failed, and need more time to re-bake. Hahahahahahs.

Actually we thought that it meant one thing: they took pride in their food to ensure any food served is up to standard. Mmm.

To be honest, if i were to tell you the name of this yn's dessert, i couldn't. It was more than a year ago. Probably lavender sorbet with something cream. Lols.

Quoc's dessert, i also couldn't remember anything about this. But the bottom liquid looks like caramel to me.

Mine, probably the name was: chocolate souffle with hazelnut-something ice cream and amaretto cream. Elisa joined us later so she did not order.

You should understand that many (but not all) european fine dining food have really literal food names.
Let's say an example.
If, i mean really if, laksa was part of the menu, laksa could be named: thick rice vermicelli in spicy fragrance coconut gravy with beancurd puffs and cockles. (Of course not beehoon, taupok and hum if this dish is served somewhere else. Hahahahahs.)

Quoc sat right in front of the photographer, miss lim, so he naturally got the most pictures taken.
Got a lot of more of him in my folder, so i only posted two. Ha ha.

Also noticed that they did not use table cloth like most fine dining restaurants would. (The next restaurant did have table cloth which they need to change for every sitting though.)

Strangely, the desserts were making us feeling full. Actually not really full, but too much of sweets that gave us decreased appetite for our next stop. Italian's next.

This is a great place with joyous yet relaxed ambiance and really-nice indian waiters in black shirts.

The complimentary bread came freshly baked hot and served with chopped black olives in olive oil. The bread is really yummm we all agreed. If i did not remember wrongly, there are some sun-dried roma tomatoes, herbs and nuts in the bread. Considered a foccacia i supposed.

The service and mood was warm and cosy, although we are concerned about the not-so-tidy service station located directly within my sight.

Yn's salad, again i can't tell you the name.
We actually planned for desserts throughout, but we need a fresher taste on our palette.
But hey, good news! I went to the website to look at the menu, the food did not change!
Okie so this is: Mixed Salad - with crispy Parma Ham and balsamic dressing. Yayness. I remembered yn did not like the rocket leaves because rockets are always bitter.

Mine is: Rocket Lettuce Salad - with roasted pine, pears, pecorino cheese and white Balsamic honey dressing. Liked the nuts and refreshing pear, cheese was a little too salty but still pleasant.

And elisa's dish is: Wagyu Beef Carpaccio - with shaved 24 months old aged parmesan cheese, baby rocket and white truffle oil. Elisa was excited about wagyu, but she did not like raw beef.
Quoc did not eat after feeling overkilled with the previous sweets so he had a cuppa coffee, although i think he might not like salad as well.

Actually, thou shall not use fork and knife for bread. But aiyah i lazy to wash hands mah.

Nearly closing time and they set up the place for the next day.

They do have nice outdoor seating, but we wanted somewhere more quiet so it would be easier to observe the workflow.

Yay bought a nicely textured panda sticker set.

Hence one of the pandas was stuck here. Jasmine and i made one frame each.

Fixing bday pressie over at jasmine's place. There were twenty-one items in total.

I do not understand why the fluctuation of malaysian watermelons' prices is so huge at our local supermarkets. Some times, a malaysian watermelon can cost $4+. I have also seen it at $3+ occasionally, while $1+ is the lowest i have seen.
Is it the quality? Or seasonal stock issues? But if it's the quality, how is the layman, such as me and you, supposed to know which watermelon is how good since it is never stated at the label.

Another food for thought at the supermart. When i was young, i confused pork skin with fish maw because they look similar - i thought they were the same thing. Now that i am older, they still look similar to me! LOLS. Refer to the image above, one is fish maw while one is not.

The heart-shaped cactuses are cute, and probably you can try to customise it. I also like the mini garden on the right. Saw them at ntuc.

Miss lim's day.

Preparing for steamboat, our usual fare.

Miss kim teaches you how to handle a sotong.
1 - Pull off the head part and remove the backbone which looks like a long piece of transparent plastic.
2 - Lightly score the surface of the sotong's skin with one straight stroke down, then peel off the red skin (maybe not technically a skin, but you get my drift) to expose the white pretty flesh.
3 - Cut off tentacles from head for consumption, but throw away the head (eyes, ink sac and other slimy stuffs inside). Your preference to cut body into slices or rings.

Miss lim was pretty excited about handling raw sotong for the first time, as you can see.

I was a little disturb by the two hershey's kisses on my almond jelly. Well, they look kinda strange... If you get my drift, LOLS. And it's not a woman who placed it there.

I have many food-related charms on my pouch, including an addition of blueberry sundae from the 7-11's gachapon near those fine dining restaurants that day.

Whenever we're out to east coast for a beachy day, i would want to eat this shaved ice at marine parade. And it's almost always the lavender flavour. It's so pleasant tasting............... Really!

I can haz no beach images, but a bus stop of marine parade instead.

This project could be one of the most costly till date (not to mention fyp whereby we spent hundreds to print out huge posters and research booklet). Other than the requirement to dine in the restaurant, it was still needed to buy a set of cutlery for presentation of your proposed restaurant, wth.

You mean you need to book a hotel room in order to propose designs for a suite? Thankfully it wasn't required in the previous hotel design project.
Eh but almost, they DID strongly encourage students to share money and book a hotel room at reputable hotels, oh *$%&%^@#.
Thankfully again, we were not required to buy suitable bedsheets, toiletbowls and basins for presentation of our proposed guestrooms.

Back to the image. Love the plate rims with curved texture though.
Used home's wine and water glasses, and a napkin from some daiso's cloth.
Although honestly this isn't full set, but who cares.

This zip bag is one of the best things i bought from daiso. =D Being able to fit in my laptop charging cable set, battery, mouse and phone transfer cable, it's way too great. Not to mention the durability of the canvas and cheerful polka dots. Ha ha ha.

Ikea breakfast, a favourite for us due to nice spread and affordability. =)

Hihi, back again for the new year rush.

Anyhoo or anyway, it's the september 2010 content as follows.

Date unknown, but should be somewhere late august. It's our bear!

Small presentation with the prototype.

Upon lecturer's suggestion, we changed the rectangular ~~anthill~~ bearhill stand into a more hilly-shaped structure to better reflect our concept.

Ongoing progress.

Honestly, can't help feeling that the campus is often a junkyard with all the mess around - for the fact that they fail to provide proper storage areas to keep our works.

LOLS how the heck did the structure fall over?

Bought this "growing" lettuce from cold storage for the novelty of it. LOLS it comes with a tiny pot with soil and attached roots.

And hence, made a simple salad with the lettuce with balsamic dressing (although taste-wise i still prefer my good ~~old~~ ole italian dressing). Other ingredients include tomato chunks, ham slices, boiled baby carrots and sliced olives.

It's random but one for myself, and one for lg. But mine can haz a cake. =D

Me and lg attempted baked rice for the first time. To be honest, the end result is no good. That's one reason why we probably did not try to make any baked rice again.
This image shows the ingredients: steamed rice, sotong, chicken, sausage and tubed ham.

Then added the campbell's condensed soup as sauce (felt we picked the wrong flavour though, ie garlic mushroom soup or something) and topped up with mozzarella cheese.

After baking. Taste-wise is not satisfactory. =c Ha ha well anyway, lesson learnt.

This starcup bought from mama shop is really so cute. It kinda resembles a mini kinderjoy (with the sweet white chocolate cream and crispy ball in nowhere) and comes with a really tiny spoon.
Ahhhhh i'm a sucker for tiny things!

Pepper lunch with zhili. Pasta was nothing to rave about, although i think i like the texture of the sotong ha ha.

Morning went to tanjong pagar railway station with lg, just to enjoy the food and architecture. That was before the announcement of ceasing operation at tanjong pagar.

Nasi briyanis and teh tariks. I remember the briyani was overpriced lols.

Afternoon till night, out at kbox.

I always think this is very cute wor, despite the fact that i felt it might be highly photoshopped (dog and cat don't seem to blend well together without realistic shadows, and cat's closed eyes look unrealistic).

We got a huge room when we only have three pax wahahah. So lucky that they perhaps ran out of smaller rooms. The party room could probably fit close to ten pax, plus it came with a mini stage!

A trip to ikea, managed to fit out a diy cake-stand made of various glasswares. Final product will be shown in the next post.
Indeed very very nice, ha ha sorry to brag but it was really good effect.

Used silicon glue to attach bowl to candlestand, and candlestand to plate. The wineglass is free-standing.

Long overdue. Hi hi.

Maybe shall catch up with many things (step by step, mai kan chiong). Lacking far too behind.

Never believed in monthly/weeky/daily horoscope stuffs although this is rather uncanny. “做任何决定，要先考虑自己未来方向，小心走怨望路。” This was from the previous month, which is november, and it was pretty apt as of then.

So proceed as it goes. Not gonna be legendary, but still wait for it anyway... Ha ha.

August 2010 (oh wth -___-).

One day on my way home, i saw this particular sight at my block.

High-rise cat can haz mop. LOLS.
Not to worry. Till now, i still see this cat lazing at my void deck some times.

The contents inside sure don't look like the graphic as illustrated on the packaging.
The cheese flavour tastes like cheezels anyway. The garlic flavour is just as disappointing.

Home-made salad consisting of babybel cheese, avocado, ham, hard-boiled egg, tomato, black pepper powder and prawn drenched in italian dressing, and served with pita bread yay.

Self-assembled brownie with vanilla ice cream, garnished with two cheery cherries, makes one cheery. =D Haven't had them for very long le, as of now.

Read about this new launch of a buffet restaurant, so we went to try during lunch break one fine day.

Long queue. It's actually let's sweet at bugis junction, but glad that it has since been closed as of now.

Graphically, indeed the food looks good.

But seriously feel the taste is not up to expectations. The snacks/bites are very typical or below average in terms of oil-control and taste, while the cakes are especially disappointing. =c

Looking really pretty and photogenic. But most desserts are either too sweet or sour for the tastebuds. They don't really taste fine at all in my opinion. Sorry that i am rather blunt with words.

Just wondering if a trainer with an honours degree in IT is crucial in teaching computer newbies to use basic stuffs like opening folders (windows explorer), maybe using hotmail, outlook or something (email) and internet explorer (not to mention the non-default ones like firefox, chrome and safari - web browser).
I learnt all those myself in primary school, i did not have any degree then. Ha ha. I'm pretty sure most of the people picked these up themselves without any degree trainers too.

Bought the heinz canned spaghetti to try out of curiousity.

To my amazement after lifting off the can lid, i thought: this must be the most freaking thick spaghetti i have seen! Omgwtfbbq.

So this is the end product, cooked together with the addition of some seafood. =D Sorry for the overcooked prawns though, they spoil the visuals.

Microwaved cupcakes, hoping to melt the top icing. Although the white one did not melt completely into a nice gooey texture, i scratched it with a fork. =D

Really liked yuki yaki steamboat, one of our favourite places.
But it has since closed down, not sure why. So sad. =c

Always satisfied with their range of seafood and the salad bar, all at affordable price!
Free-flow raw scallops, cooked japanese-style baby octopus, deep fried salmon chunks (they don't give fresh ones during the lunch, perhaps due to costing), deep fried soft shell crabs, gourmet tea, etc. =D

There's this big black dog (quite fierce actually) chained to the tree trunk and a noisy parrot chained to its pole, kept by somebody who lived near the back door of my shophouse workplace.

Bought this very special minestrone from one of my usual ntuc shopping trips.
So, is it really very special? Well, not really so except for the fact that it contains much more veggie chunks than a regular canned soup.

It's a kim-made cherry milkshake! Whee!

New product launched. I named this dessert mt fuji, although the apples used are not fuji apples. More follow-ups with mt fuji next month.
This photo may not look pretty, but it's really nommilicious yummy of apple slices to go with sweet gooey hersheys chocolate sauce and chilly vanilla ice cream. =D Simple is bliss.

Progress of point-of-purchase (pop) with jasmine.

Initially we thought of choosing yupi gummies (either yupi burger or whatsoever) as our product, but due to the lack of online information regarding yupi, we took haribo instead!

Haribo has a pretty strong marketing presence in many countries, the products have a better selling point (such as natural flavourings and colourings). You can also find many youtube videos of the advertisements.

It's mr bear, mr haribo bear.

So amazing to see such an old-school thing. This was from my childhood's era, can't believe a non-local classmate has it. You can hardly buy it nowadays.

Proposed prototype pop for selling of haribo gummy bears is up.
The shovel can be used for samples of the gummy bear, ~~anthill~~ bearhill as a product holder, podium for storage of goods and informative signages can be placed on the bear's body or the podium.

Lols oh hai! It's the july 2010 general post, although it's now august 2011.

Mostly food and purchases somehow.
With later sections on kbox girls out and hortpark site visit for interior major project (the one just before fyp - although now fyp has already long finish, with me already stuck in working life and graduation convocation is in a few weeks' time but i have yet to rvsp for the ceremony because i have still not decided whether to attend or not).

My anyhow-cooked salmon. =D Although a bit chui lols.

I have my preference for bottled food because simply they can last way much longer (but yes it's not as healthy and even more expensive than fresh ones).

A small tin of canned button mushrooms will turn sour in less than a week, while packet of fresh shiitake mushrooms turn mouldy in about a week or so.

This one is surprisingly yummy. It's a mixture of 50% red wine and 50% sparkling water. Has became one of my favourite drinks.

Not looking very presentable, but it surely yummeh. Full of my favourite liaos.
Got more similar salads below, because that month i keep making messy salads.

Out of curiousity, i tried shark meat bought from ntuc.

The problem with sharkfin is that, the harvester only chop off the fin of the live shark and throw it back to sea, leaving to die on its own on the seabed due to immobility. That's what people called cruelty. However, if human were to eat the whole of shark, instead of only the fin, such cruelty issue would not be an issue in the first place.

When anyhow cooked and italian dressing added for quick taste.

Shark meat, not relevant to cooking skills, is generally tougher and rougher. It may also have more mercury content than other fish.

Another bulbul added. They looked so lovely-dovey.

I still prefer the red over classic. This flavour is too light and forgettable.

Made a small felt panda. It's kewt LOLS.

Because i saw this thing quite cute. And jiu shun bian give it to lg.

Added an extra touch at the back. The double-hearts added on specially, if not behind got nothing and would be very empty. Aiyah take it as happy three-and-a-half months gift LOLS.

1 is my favourite. 2 and 3 are first tries, as seen below. 4 and 5 minipacks, the lays classic and ruffles original are my long-time favourite too.

After trying, i actually like neither of them.

Bought the cheap on-sale salmon belly from ntuc. It is indeed full of bones, okie learnt my lesson. LOLS. Still yum but just very mafan and need to be careful.

Third week is as mundane.

Lg said my top is like those nightie wtf. No lo, nightie is supposed to be thin and translucent, this top isn't translucent at all, the fabric has double layers somemore. LOLS.

Lg asked, "What's the point of taking photo? Can't even see my head."
I said, "Nevermind what, can see myself jiu hao, i shuang cannot is it."

Shopped at ikea with myself and i. This display lacks of a crystal ball and some old witch aha.

Very cute, fluffy and huggable! Meow.

On the other hand, this cat is erm, sorry, ugly. It's tangily orange, flat-faced, has strange facial expression and looks like a ball.

Stuff purchased. Mostly organizers, and also bed tray to put my laptop.

Bought the blue tube dress, but not the outerwear because only got M size, it was too big.
Looks fine in the photo but looks like pyjamas actually, with the frilly bits along the buttons and loose sleeves.

The ikea bin design a bit fail. -_- Cannot put a4 size flat, because of the shape.

There's a solution though. Put it "standing" this way. Lols.

The ikea 17-pack food container set is good though. Can be used to store many things.

I always felt that ordering hot milo bohua leh. Whisky or bourbon coke is always my typical choice, and yanni's habit is tiger beer.

05jul2010, picnic at ecp (again zzz lols) with lg.

I had never flew a kite before, for the past twenty years. So we decided to fly kite lols.
See, the photograph i took is so nice, at least can see lg's silhouette as well as the kite (albeit vaguely).

Mine cannot see kite though.

There was pita bread with egg mayo.

Cocktail chicken sausages, topped with honey mustard.

=)

On the bus back.

Stupidly, my favourite white slippers of more than one year broke.
Had to drag to cheers to buy a pair of temporary slippers.
The pair of new cheapo slippers hurts so bad because it pokes the skin at the T section. Fail.

=)

We saw this cat loitering at the void deck during wee hours.
Fur so thick, the breed is definitely not your typical stray cat. And looks well-fed too. Highly likely is somebody's pet.

06jul2010, the next day at yanni's place for steamboat dinner.

That was our first steamboat gathering. After that, we became very seasoned for more to come, especially with better food, soup and skills. LOLS.

Hua cutting sotong, i wasn't around yet.

I wasn't on time so they had to wait for me to come to start. But i bought good stuffs like mussels, prawns, cockles, baby corns, etc and brought the chilli sauce, holed-ladles and blah. Does that redeem myself? Sorry lar LOLS almost can't live without seafood.

And the best part is, i immediately saw the price tag on the plastic wrapper (which goes around the parameter for the triangular slice), directly facing me. LOLS.

Featuring meiqi's picnic birthday and our preparations, with other ad-hoc miscellaneous stuffs in june (more food whee). This is not going to be that short. And somewhat 80% chance that will make you smile LOLS.

22jun2010, three days before the day.

Yanni (aka yn, pink-lover, snow white or jasmine calls her nanny), jasmine (aka jiak si mi/eat what, green tea or yn calls her tea), kw (aka wee, cat-lover or i say the free bodyguard cum bellboy) and i went to tampines giant to get stuffs for the picnic at marina barrage for meiqi's belated birthday. Meiqi is also known as machi or domokun-lover. We somehow always celebrate birthdays belated because we are forever very busy people zzzzz.

Anyway in the end, it was quite malu by the time we checked out at the cashier, because we bought less than 5 items with that big trolley. LOLS. Thought would be better to buy the fresh food at a closer date. We did buy a fake champagne for the fun of it though, since we had no budget for a real one.

Yn, green tea and i were making sweets over at yn's place.

Melting chocolate. (I know cooking-purists always like to say it's wrong to heat directly, one should use a double-broiler instead, blah blah. But i like my simplistic way mah, it's convenient and hassle-free.)

See, they are so happy, loving it... Ha ha ha.
I'm going to repeatedly use the smiley faces tactic throughout this whole post, sorry if you're allergic to it. Can't help it.

Yn loves doing things that allows her to get scoldings from us, LOLS.
She dipped the food only at the tips because she said they look more photogenic (or dreamier/prettier-looking)... We want chocolate-coated sberries and marshmallows, not accidentally-stained sberries and marshmallows. Meow.

The word "meow" used in the previous paragraph is expected to be of the same meaning as "period", albeit more act cute.

25jun2010, morning and early afternoon of the day.

Jasmine and i were doing the final preparations over at my place.

This is what jasmine did to my sink! *%&$#&*#$$X*%!
Erm no lar okie not exactly, i did some contributions too lols.

Anyway, we cleaned up real fast. Sandwich wor.

Checking if the potatoes are ready.

I don't have a bread knife, so we could not cut the baguette nicely in thin slices.

Shaped sandwiches, teehee.

I found an efficient way to prepare the diced egg bits for egg mayo - using egg slicer.

Although this could be further improved by slicing through the z-axis.
But then after the second cut, it would be a bit too chui to slice a third time anyway lo.
(You would surely know what i mean by z/y/z-axis if you ever used a 3d software or something.)
This method creates neat egg bits wor.

It's fail-proof and guaranteed yummy! Mayonnaise ftw.

Anyway, this is one of our end products: cute-shaped sandwiches with choices of egg mayo, ham, cheese or peanut butter filling.

Another product, baguette slices with tuna-mayo and shrimp.

And also, the potato salad i always make. Because it's also fail-proof and yummy. This shows the egg, potato chunks and shrimps. Haven't add the mayo, black pepper powder and ham slices yet.

We had a neighbour picnic family setting up next to us, and they brought a chihuahua with them.
The dog was running all over, and it came to us. =D

But without flash, the lighting was so bad that i looked like i was holding a ball, or some white cat (due to the pointy ears).

It's belly cute. Jasmine's turn to hold it. She has a half-chihuahua at her granny's place too.

After roaming around, the chihuahua eventually decided that it shall rest right in front of me, leaning on my legs.
Its owners said the dog probably likes me, ha ha felt so honoured because i felt appreciated. Normally dogs don't appreciate me, maybe because i smell more fishy (appeals to cats more ha ha okie kidding).

Anyway we were busy focusing our attention at the dog. Our romantic candle-cup caught fire.
-____- Fail. And we panicked zzz although managed to extinguish the fire, leaving a hole on the floor mat.

Verdict? Food court's version definitely tastes better.

Saw some inexpensive blue cheese at the ntuc and decided to try for the sake of curiosity.
(It's exciting to explore the unknown, you know.)
Okie, wouldn't consume blue cheese again.

It's like an angmoh's perspective at the asian durian.
Now it's an asian's perspective at the angmoh blue cheese.

It stinks horribly and it's awfully bitter. LOLS...
Walao mouldy cheese siap siap one lo.

Pricey canned food.
But it's really yummeh yummeh.

Making ginger ale float is always a joy, watching the amazing mass of foam rising up after popping in a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Seriously, you can't get so much foam with coke, sprite or even root beer.

With zesty italian dressing. Homemade salad is always so yum, although the visuals may look messy. It just won't go wrong, especially with a selection of your favourite veggies and stuff.

Made salad again the next day, with the same dressing. Still yum lols cus i am always craving for black olives.
But sadly, ntuc don't stock up black olives every day, only once in a while you see them on the shelves.

Very sad leh. I don't understand how come the latest version of windows live messenger does not have the handwrite function. That sucks. What a pity.
And furthermore, i did not know that it was bundled up inside the windows live essentials 2011 package that was scheduled for my window updates.

Five days later, we were discussing about how come normally we can always differentiate a kitten from the adult feline so easily (besides the size factor) just from the face itself.

What lg thinks...

I beg to differ. It's not about the sulking mouth i thought. Mmm.

This is what i feel...
It's about the eyes! Old cats have slanted, sly eyes that always seem to diao you (they treat you as inferior it seems). On the other hand, kittens have big, round, watery, innocent-looking eyes that makes you go awww.

LOLS anyway we eventually agreed on the eyes theory.

I've got a question.

Although i have mentioned it before, i always have this idea of making a online design portfolio, food folio (albeit non-professional standard but i happy mah cannot is it, ha ha) and cat folio.

But i never had the time to do them. (Okie excuses liao liao. Not say no time, but more like didn't set aside the spare time to dedicate myself into doing them.)

I habitually shop the supermarkets at least twice a week. (Most of the time at ntuc, occasionally cold storage and giant.) It's a joy to see food!

I like to try new things just for fun and curiosity - i'd buy again if they're nice.

After microwaving. Can eat is can eat, but lack of the punch of typical thai basil chicken. =C

Conclusion: Better spend that money in a cook-on-demand thai eatery.

This is one of my favourite instant mee, the myojo big prawn mee.

And these are the ingredients i used to cook my mee with. I cook my mee differently each time, but it's roughly like that.

And tadah, yumyum. More ingredients than the mee itself, ftw.

As of the current time frame, flobby is turning four years old in a few days' time lo. So old. And dirty lols.

This really tastes not bad. I kept buying and buying upon finishing. It's value for money too.

Bought a new lowball glass (left), and below was what i used it for.

Made with hershey's mix, milk, vanilla ice cream, ice cubes and some chocolate shavings for garnish.

I made sandwich yay. This milk bread is yum.

If you don't have a toaster, you can toast your sliced bread on a flat pan. Because i don't have a non-stick pan, had to spend some sad time scrubbing. =C

Me, berd and kw went to spca, while waiting for yanni who was busy with something (sorry can't remember what). Kw is also a well-known cat lover.

A very-bored-looking siamese, or something. I guessed this cat would get adopted pretty soon, thanks to the premium genes which made it stand out from the other mixed breed oh-so-common cats.

Not sure, but got a feeling probably this kitteh was adopted soon after bah.

Next time if me and lg get our own home, we would like to adopt one or two kittehs. Spca don't have many choices, i find that cat welfare society provides more options that are fostered by volunteers. And also for the fact that i do not quite agree with spca's policies.

We met up with yanni at orchard after that.

Ate dinner and watched shrek 4 till late. Decided to find somewhere to kill time because night-rider bus doesn't operate so early.

TGIF at heeren. I remembered it was somewhat the world cup season and they were airing it.

I also remembered my mudslide (consisted of vodka, kahlua, baileys, ice cream and chocolate syrup/chips) literally gave me a mudslide for the next two days. I meant diarrhea btw. I never fail to avoid any alcohol which is mixed with cream/milk after that incident.

Don't know why her tube of hand lotion (extreme right) was intentionally photographed in by yanni. LOLS.

Seeing this picture, i also suddenly remembered that yanni was so shy that time, that she refused to sit anywhere near kelvin ha ha ha (because i saw the striped shirt sitting beside me in this photograph).

Anyway they have since gotten together, think some months short of their first anniversary. Soon le bah. =D

Got a new gift out of the blue. (We don't often give gifts to each other one.) It's name is peng, short for penguin.

Because he said i always complained of neckache problems. Lols anyway he was eventually convinced that a neck pillow will not help with neckache issues. Nevertheless, thanks for the effort hor. =D

I saw this on the newpaper. Behlee lame to publish such a photograph of three angmoh tourists doing "thumbs-up" amidst a flood in tg pagar, no better images to publish meh?

Bought some cat wall stickers from gmarket. And a lousy cat ring (felt cheated) which is worse than those kind from turning the capsule for 50cents when i was young.

Supposedly meant for pasting on the wall surrounding the switches, i used it for my laptop lid.

I'm glad to announce the june 2010 post is here, ha ha finally. Had been busy.

Actually it's just part 1 of 3. LOLS. Featuring only 01jun10 and 03jun10 with 82 images.

First of june, went out gaigai with greentea, pink and berd.

I like my shoes which made me grow by 10cm (although sadly by now the straps have already broken).

A process known as toileting.

We were in direct view of some doremon performance at marina square from the food loft.
They were dancing, but doremon's limbs were too stiff to move much (it doesn't even have joints at the elbow and wrist), damn funny lo.
The really funny part when the show has ended and doremon tries to get into the back stage.
The head was too big!
Cannot walk through the door WTH.
Doremon has to walk sideways very slowly (like a lame crab) to squeeze through the backstage door. Epic fail.

Next up is a long chapter on the ulu kranji farms trip on 03jun10.

Lols looked damn chui, full-powered sun and full-bodied sweat.

168 is my recommended bus of choice to get to the northeast side, because i always take one mah lolsss. I like long distance ride through the speedy expressways (although i know they always drive at around 40km/h only) but yn is always sleeping on bus one lols.

As planned beforehand, we alighted at bollywood for lunch because there were full of raving reviews online.

Introducing the cast while waiting for lunch to arrive: pink, kim, wee and berd.

I had the fig drink because i always like to eat figs. It was quite bland but still refreshing. The lemongrass drink on the otherhand, was stronger in taste. Aloe vera drink was rather typical and expected.

We ordered three dishes for four of us.
Surprisingly, the "four rice" came in a big bowl.

There was chicken curry and banana curry.
Since banana curry is more special, i suggested it. LOLS but i think we'd prefer the chicken one. Actually the bananas used were the hard ones, which didn't taste like our typical bananas.

Stir-fried veggies of the day. Very homely dish lols.

Sweet and sour fish, another homely dish ha ha.

They were very thoughtful to provide serving spoons for us to share, if you haven't noticed!

Most of the time, guys never take good photos when requested! LOLS really. All failed.

Berd's mango pudding, which we protested the unfairness LOLS. His little cup was way cuter than our white plates! Damn it.

The toilet environment reminded me of those in zoo, sentosa or something. Always imagining people might peep from the bushes LOLS.

Toured around the plantation. This is one of their many banana plants.

Peeping through some fences, we saw a nice beautiful mansion in the distance, across the pond. Must be the owners' palace. Yup, PALACE.
Numerous domestic dogs started to appear behind the pond and barked at us fiercely.
Caught sight of a great dane! I knew great danes are really huge, but i have never seen one in real life until that day. Long legs and it's really freaking huge! LOLS sorry no pictures.

We then left bollywood to explore other farms. Being impractical to wait for the next shuttle bus (1.5h intervals), we boarded the vehicle 11. (11 refers to the legs in case you happen not to know.)

Btw that's snow white with my purple umbrella, because snow white cannot be turning black ha ha ha.

Immediately noticed some roadside mushrooms. =D

Snow white says our slippers and legs made her mushroom shots look ugly. T_T

Saw some radio mast and towers across the field.
After some checking, these belong to the kranji transmitting station (media corp technologies).
Two other relay stations in the vicinity belongs to bbc and singtel.

We passed by a fish farm and decided to drop by for a visit, and waaaaa this scene is just like paradise wor...

Greeted by two big parrots with robotic voices.
They really said "hello?" in that freaky tone as if a human had a horrible throat infection LOLS.

O hai! This is a blue-throated macaw parrot, according to wiki.

My closest guess that this could be a yellow-shouldered amazon parrot. Might not be correct though.

They are both huge species in the parrot family as compared to my tiny lovebird parrot (which can be easily squashed by the palm).

Saw some really huge koi and arowana (aka golden dragon fish). Giantic... Till the extent whereby i suspect they might be as tall as me if they could stand upright ha ha.

I cannot really quite remember, but i think this shot is definitely posed! LOLS.

A really scenic place. Walking ever to explore the hut.

The hut was empty but full of excretion all over the wooden walls and floor. Probably bats' waste? They looked too big to be lizards' waste anyway.

There was this old-looking dog roaming around there.

Oh really?

Indeed.

Anyway parrots are basically similar. They like to make noise to seek your attention if they see you somewhere away.
They somehow appear to recognise people, and are able to interact and be trained. Hence, parrots make good pets in my opinion.

Pull-ups? No problem!

We moved on to another farm, which is strongly recommended by wee because he used to intern there. Nyee phoe.

The whole compound is another scenic place. So nice.

Resting. So nice.

The place sells some garden furniture and this is a paranakan-styled window with a mirror (i think). So nice.

We set off to our last sightseeing location of the day. Sungei buloh wetland reserve yay.

After entering, we were lucky to see a monitor lizard. I cropped a slightly closer-up below.

Here it is, yay.

We were very kind to feed the animals there, in particularly the mosquitoes and ants.

To be honest, we didn't really see a diversity of animals and plants as claimed in online sites.
Or maybe it's just us. No patience, no experience, no observation skills. Ha ha.

Well, except for a few occasional typical white cranes which could be easily seen in bedok anyway.

I strongly believe the land across the water is johore bahru.

Sunset time. Okie not really.

That was how we were supposed to view the nature.

Well... We saw almost nothing there. No birds!

We saw a small lizard too. But that's all. Boohoo. =c LOLS.

To our surprise, the last bus for shuttle service to kranji mrt was already gone.
Strangely. Should still have, according to the timing.
But somehow, there was no more bus for us WTH. Hahahhhas.

Wee had gotten the whole legs full of red bites, very bad.

I only got a few bites, not that bad.

Yup it's always like that, mosquitoes aim the most attractive person first, if you go adventure with a group of friends.
It's like, they literally become the meat shield LOLS.

Attractiveness mmm, did a quick research and the articles say that mosquitoes prefer certain body smells. The smell in one's sweat is dependent on different proportions of carbon dioxide, octenol, processed cholesterol, bodily chemicals and salty food consumed.

Normally you can see the pretty sky accompanied by a very hot sun.

The very-tired people resting by the roadside curb/kerb.

And making plans on how to leave this place before sunset.

Some dog munching some meat (looks like roasted chicken or something).

Reminds me of a scene whereby we saw a decomposing dead bird (or chicken) by the roadside, very very disturbing... With the flesh, blood and houseflies. Not sure if it was killed by wild animals or what. We didn't take picture of that because it did not seem morally right to record a tragic incident due to respect, and the scene might be slightly traumatic.

Attempting to walk out to the nearest bus stop (which is really very far, for your information), we managed to hitch a van belonging to two malaysian workers! They are so nice to give us a free ride to yishun mrt. =D

We sat in the goods area, looking out at the roads.

Ha ha.

Across the kranji dam. It is always a joyous thing to be on the way home after a long tired day.

Soon, it started to rain. Luckily we were already in the van instead of walking.

Looking chui but happy to meet helpful people. Heart-warming ha ha.

We eventually arrived at yishun after some time on the road.

Took 969 back to tampines.

And so that's it.

May yay ha ha.

No mayday distress though. Content is considered short, as compared to the other months. The bulk focuses mainly on the completion of furniture. I can't wait to do up the june post LOLS.

There used to be a cats' apartment outside the bedok ntuc, operating at night after the newsstand had closed for the day.

Let us visit the second storey's occupant.
It is known as "meow" to me, or simply the "fortress cat" according to my responses from cheezburger.com (click).

Even meow knows how to pose in seductive angle to have sharp chin, big eyes and slender legs - social-networking pretty-photography skills PASSED!

However, this is the exact truth. Meow actually has double chins and huge chicken thighs. Kthxbai.

I collected the dropped feather, it's so cute.

Collected a second one the next day. This has a different pattern.

I actually prefer the manhattan clam chowder (red, tomato-based version) to the conventional new english clam chowder (white, cream-based).

Some grilled meat (chicken chop i think) at the background, fried calamari at the right and chicken fajita for me. Sauces are unique, not the usual chilli or ketchup.

April, food, small creatures.

LOLS so freaking long, and it's the april post.

Not last month's april though, more like april 2010. Kwa-kwa...

Finished my fyp finally with many days not sleeping, now trying to counteract the dark eye circles after-effects. Did a crappy and rushed job but at least it's better than giving up.

Anyway, random stuffs and some food to follow.
And featuring some other small animals (at least six types you'll see).

April april (still find it hard to believe that's more than one year ago wth).

Penang-style prawn mee. Tastes slightly different from our regular ones. This was a takeaway, image below was after pouring of soup.

Yum yum. Soup is sweeter, spicier and prawnier.
Wished that there was more mee though cus i'm a big eater.

Strawberry smoothie! Can't remember if there is banana in this cus it looks thick and yellowish.
(This reminds me that i haven't been making milkshakes nowadays.)

So cute.
The jagabee potato was sleeping (sweet dreams i bet), unaware of it's fate of its friends...

Animation time.

Yanni, jasmine and i ate at jack's place for student meals, but the choices are so few.

The serving of fish fingers look pathetic (1), i don't wanna eat beef and sausages in tomato-based pasta is so not my liking (2), i normally don't like chicken cutlet and the cucumber garnishing is quite a turn-off (3) and lastly i always have contempt for crabsticks ha ha for having a fake name when they contain 0% crab BUT i like baked rice though (4).
I would prefer if they use mushrooms instead of crabsticks, you see. But being on a budget means aiyah doesn't matter, just eat lar, won't die one. LOLS.

Awaiting food, although complimentary iced water came much faster than our soft drinks (which came after our soup) but didn't matter cus i don't really take soft drinks normally a ha.

I think it was cream of tomato.
Too long ago to remember, but it really looks like mah... Lols.

Lols food is edible but not yummy though. Two baked rice, while jasmine's chicken cutlet looked like it has more fried flour than the chicken meat itself.

Chocolate ice creams from supplier can't go wrong but won't taste yummy either. Nevertheless, i really appreciate the touch of chocolate syrup and almonds yay.
The two images compare the different effects by different cameras - the right image has higher contrast and saturation, looking more attractive.

Another s'berry milkshake garnished with fresh sberries, blended using some frozen strawberries this time.
Why frozen? Because normally when strawberries are about to rot, putting them in the freezer can preserve them and halt the rotting process.

The flavoured teas smell really good, but you can't really taste the flavours by the way.

They really taste horrible. Fake beers are haw-ree-bah.

Technically speaking, sinful beverages dealing ice creams and flavourings are called milkshakes, while healthier beverages dealing with fruits or yogurts are known as smoothies. But i think milkshake sounds more pleasant to my ears, cannot is it. Lols.

I generally like to eat salmon (although tastes better when raw), potatoes, broccoli and buttery gravy, hence this is for mehhh.
No complains except the price (if cheaper i'll be happier), serving size (if bigger portions i'll be happier) and salmon (if juicier and less dry i'll be happier).

Bought my second box of post cereals and the kiwi was kinda sour.

Witnessed a motorbike accident in slow motion while having lunch at coffeeshop next to campus (coffeeshop has been demolished already to make space for another hotel so sad).
The indian motorbike driver actually somehow hit onto the SUV with a screeching sound. It did not involve high speed impact, the biker appeared to injure his leg due to the fallen bike that pressed on his leg.
A police car magically arrived in approximately 30 seconds.
"How efficient!" We thought. HA HA HA. Where got so fast one, think they just happen to drive pass nia.
The SUV driver looked like he wanted compensation (duh).

I always appreciate nissin for their effort in having yummy soup and great amount of "liao" in their cups. Both the nissin cup noodles and nissin cqyd are good stuffs.

I cook my mee with different ingredients everytime. This one had egg tofu, varied shrooms, egg and scallops in my myojo big prawn mee.

My very first and only strand of white hair.

Soooo cute. Not mine though. Part of my gift for lg several years ago, think happy first month. It's a capybara cartoonised by the japanese, known as kapibara-san, HA HA.

For your extra information, capybara is the largest rodent in the world. It is often nicknamed the "giant hamster" although it is more closely genetically-related to the chinchilla and guinea pig. Capybara is kept as pets in some countries - they are good-natured, consume a vegetarian diet and love to be patted by human.

Arghhh after spending more than 30 minutes searching for the name of this insect, i still have no avail. If anybody happens to know, please tell me thanks. Somehow i think it could be a type of wasp, but i have no concrete proof though.

Grad show coming up next week (it's just a showcase of all the fyps in a gallery for public's view), although graduation is more like in august or so. So long though. Not too sure what to do in the mean time, which is supposedly the vacation period (actually longer than the regular vacation bah). Internship? Don't know.

On a side track, i remember zhiwei telling me: his life in nafa is even worse than his five years of contract serving in army. LOLS i believe it is that bad. Many of us would be glad to leave.

Being in the same part-time job for nearly two years, i can't help but to feel appalled at having to face real job interviews sooner or later (should be soon though but i like to avoid thinking about it). I don't even know what.

Have seen a lot on you during my darkest times. Darkest times do not refer to emo times, but days of rush, panic and fear when i could not even afford to fall asleep for more than two hours a day. You know i appreciate.
Just that we are those people who don't quite know how to show thanks or display our gratitude, you understand one lols. Inert people ha ha.

Other than those surface stuffs, such as we like to rant about political stuffs, discuss about meow meows, cooking up our dream food and so on, i always feel that our characters within are very similar. We have our stark differences but we don't quite think too far from each other. That's something that i always like about us (and i secretly think that we are quite fortunate, in self-admiration, because not every couple out there synchronise like we do hehe). Sidebar counter says it's almost the fifty-second month, and these months are never spent in vain but fruitful and hopeful.

If i manage to grad this time, it would be a step nearer to the ultimate destination (not referring to death lols). Earn money for some years to save up deposit buy house (don't get me start ranting about how ridiculous the hdb flats' prices are due to some mr mah), get married, have kids ha ha ha ha ha sounds like on the way to become yellow-faced aunty.

Haihai march post arrives~
(Belated by nine months, well well...)

Nevertheless, this will be lengthy. Nearly 90 images, might need to wait for it load finish first before viewing.

Contents are quite random - including some food, furniture award show/conference, steamboat for lg's bday, making special jelly for the sentosa bday (see previous post if you haven't), seletar pet resort, and other miscellaneous stuffs.

But long-windedness looms ahead.

I made the mistake of microwaving egg AGAIN zzz.
Damn i keep forgetting that eggs will explode and thus have to clean up the mess inside the microwave oven (eggs splattered everywhere inside).

Vinegar is love, LOLS. (It's quite interesting to note that most females love vinegar while most males hate vinegar.)

I was asking the lady restocking there if they sell bird toys/accessories. No, they don't. =C

Lovebird, just like other parrots, is highly hyperactive and needs stuff to play with.

Pet's lover centre sells overpriced stuffs though. At least 8bucks for bird toys consisting of some simple wooden blocks, wooden beads and ropes, walao expensive eh for something i think i can make myself.

Bird already flew away since some months ago.

Lovebirds generally love to eat millets.
And also, the whole millets sold at pet's lover centre is like around 6bucks (or somewhere there i forgot the price) for only about 5 stalks. Wth, that's crazy price.
My father bought one huge packet of whole millets (at least over 10 stalks, which can last birdie for at least 2 months) at a neighbourhood bird shop for only 2 bucks!

It's really very rare to find leaf on an apple in a supermarket.

I'm very picky about it too, and it cannot contain imitation crabstick and tamagoyaki (sweet egg omelette).

Always very yum for my liking.

I generally do not like to consume chili sauce (not because i cannot take the spiciness, but i think it covers the original taste in an unappreciative way).
However, there's one particular chili sauce which i really really like. The oyster omelette's chili sauce - tangy-sour ftw.

And btw i don't like my oyster omelette to be fried "spicy" too, i only like that sourish chili sauce.

Yummy-looking strawberry smoothie (forget the ingredients used already, cus every time i make it, there will be slight alterations to the recipe depending on the availability of items).

The following day is lg's bday, i found it on the ntuc shelf and decided to make this oreo no-bake "cake".

You can see the layers from the side. And some dripped on the countertop surface too.

I think that it was actually too sweet for my tastebuds.
And it was not solid enough for travelling after removing from the fridge.

There was this perpetual extremely bright/blur spot on top, and we thought that it was the natural lighting being too strong.

Until we figured out that there is a very obvious oil mark on the camera lens.
Wiping it off, it totally solved the problem. -__________-

Okie lar, it's actually just a schoolmate from the next-door class who overdressed with expensive-looking matching suit. LOLS.

There's naoto fukasawa as an invited speaker (can't see in the photograph anyway), he's a very famous japanese designer (lols lots of worshippers cus he's really a genius).

But the brown tea-colour liquid on the left seriously don't look like red wine. And white wine is never clear and transparent like the liquid on the right, wine wines are normally yellowish.

Well, they are actually coke and sprite, ha ha. Knew that they will never have high budget to provide free wines anyway.

The thing about me and lg is that: we have totally opposite likings (although we think similarly, thankfully). Whatever things i love, he hates. Whatever stuffs he loves, i hate absolutely.

So what i'm trying to say is, when we have steamboats, my food is "my food" and his food is "his food" cus we don't like each other's food. LOLS.

Pink texts indicate "my food", blue texts indicate "his food" and green texts indicate "sharing food".

I like seafood a lot and rarely eat meat (except for livers). He loves meat a lot, but he don't really eat seafood.

Yellow watermelon and chocolate ice cream for dessert. LOLS it's amazing i ate three slices of yellow watermelon, okie lar that's because i really really like yellow watermelons (i don't have love for red watermelon though, told you i am picky).

Yellow ones really taste different from the red ones what.
Yellows are significantly sweeter (reds' sweetness seem to have the diluted-in-water taste).
But don't know why yellows are much rarer. =c

I saw an interesting recipe online and made modifications to it. This dessert is brought to sentosa for the duo's bday.

I added chopped strawberries because i thought the originally recipe is too plain.
I used instant yellow agar powder instead (for convenience), but to my disappointment the agar has no fruity flavour taste, to the extent of being tasteless (the instructions on the pack did not tell me to add sugar, so i assumed it has already been flavoured).
Thankfully the strawberries have taste. -_-

Prepare empty orange shells, and fill with chopped strawberries.

Then fill up with agar powder dissolved in boiling water.

Cool, chill inside the fridge and cut into wedges.

A very grumpy lg accompanied me to visit the animal resort in seletar farmway, especially when the nearest bus stop is very far and walking ulu long distance in the heavy rain (sharing a pathetic umbrella which didn't fail to get us wet) doesn't help either.

Can't see any tall buildings here.

Poor horse has no stable to shelter itself from the rain. =CCC

I understand that birds on the other hand, love to play with water (really~ from my experience of pet birds and observation of wild birds).
Hence, these crown cranes did not hide from the rain although shelter is available to them.

I now then realised that the advertisement stickers covering the buses are cut manually.

If you have watched wall-e, this will remind you of the huge trash cubes that is made from compressed trash (although this is the drink cans version).

They are even taller than me when two are stacked.

(And the air does smell sourish with some flies fluttering around, should be able to tell from the liquid flowing on the road.)

We were so freaking hungry and desperate to find any food.
After much walking, we finally found a coffeeshop at hougang estate.
We both ordered fried kwaytiao. She wants extra de, $4 spicy, while i had $3 non-spicy.

However, the taste wasn't good. It was oily, not fragrance, not tasty at all, just like eating cooked starch.
(LOLS hungry people will find any awful food nice, but imagine we were extremely hungry but the food was really making us lose appetite.)

I managed to finish mine with much effort (cus it's a habit i always clear the food on my plate, if possible), whereas she didn't finish it cus it tasted yucky.

Then the uncle of the stall came out to smoke. On his way back, he knocked on our table and said, "Tell the lady if she can't take spicy food, then don't order spicy food lar!" And he walked off.

Btw, it's not that it is too spicy. It's simply that the kwaytiao didn't taste good. We were already very kind not to talk back to him that it's the food that taste awful, not because its spicy.

LOLS we were grudgeful that the uncle was rude to us for accusing something that is not true.
When customers can't finish your food and you come out to scold them, how can like that?!

I seriously hesitate whether to call my such drink a MILKSHAKE or a SMOOTHIE.

Milkshake = Often blended with ice cream and flavoured syrup.
Smoothie = Often marketed to health-conscious consumer, usually made from fresh fruits/vegetables.

Actually it seems that SMOOTHIE is a more correct word to use.

Left out a bit for january 2010.

Smu site exploration for furniture design studio of a proposed meeting point (though it is not necessary to be a piece of public furniture).

Cus i put the smu images into my schoolwork folder instead of the regular folders for photographs i categorized by months.

Nothing much. Might be boring too.

Me and project partner, john, discussing about the project, using this tree as our chosen site.

Meiqi and co also visited their site on the same day, and took a picture of us lols.

Whee january post.

This two weeks will be busy, so expect no updates. LOLS.

January has mainly food, creme brulee for old pal's bday, third anniversary, ice creams, elective project, fruit milkshakes/smoothies, animations of bird eating and random mundane stuffs.

My egg mayo sandwich yayness, completed with dried fruits.

Seriously nissin is my favourite brand of instant noodles, no matter is nissin cqyd or nissin cup noodles.
Runner-up is myojo (BIG PRAWN MEE FTW!). =D

And oooooh btw i was trying to search for myojo website but it got redirected to nissin website instead.
I just realised myojo is under nissin too.
Oh wth. -___-

Here's nissin and myojo for you.

Japanese food somehow never fails me (although most of the products are not made in japan).
Korean food is 50%, either a hit or a miss, for me.

I like to use the toilet paper packaging plastic for trashbin cus it's recycling and fits snugly too.

Nissin cyqd bowl sesame oil flavour gave me two packets of sesame oil, for the first time.

Prepared the pressie the night before.

Nicely wrapped pressie yay.
Haven't been using wrapping papers for years, all along using box or fancy paper bags.
But saw a nice wrapping paper, so got inspired to do a japanese style wrap (ha ha not exactly though, it just means no tapes or glue, merely tying).
Happy to wrap it better than i expected. Cus inside there're several items, not easy to pack.

Okie~ Making of creme brulee. My very first attempt.

Need to separate the yolk from the white. Cus creme brulee contains no egg whites.
But this egg separator sucks big time. Yolk kept sliding through anyway, walao eh.

Somehow managed to get one yolk after many tries, by manually removing the egg white.

Second yolk broke.

Then mixed together with sugar and cream.

Supposed to add vanilla extract (on the table all along), but i only remember after sending the creme brulee mixture into the oven, super grrr.

Baking with a water-bath.

I don't own a blowtorch, so i attempted to caramelize the sugar on top with the kitchen stove lighter. -_- Produced some grey soot as a result.

While waiting for bday girl at novena square, i had some peanut butter waffles from prima deli. And it sucked big time. You know why?

Not crispy, i'm fine with it. But eeeee it's so squashy although it's freshly made.
Not that i purposely squashed it, i only lightly held the waffles in my hand through the paper bag to eat it.
And the texture is totally flaccid.
Worst waffles ever?

Wanted to put candles on the creme brulee, but out of fridge too long, somehow became watery.
So ran to prima deli to buy some simple brownie, just to poke candles.

I just went away for 30 seconds to get the brownie so that candles can stand, and this is what she did to my cat~ LOLS.
Making the eyebrows balanced, lolsss.

Had yummy ice cream at udders.
Kinda forgot the flavours liao, i think they are orange choc bitters, strawberry fields and chocmarsh.

And btw the simple brownie from prima deli tasted as if it has been left in the fridge for dunno-how-many days, there was this stale or 'fridge' taste zzz horrible X2.

Well, at least i'm trying to catch up the timeline.

Mainly food-related pictures. And bird too. Xmas season.

Making baked potatoes!

Into the oven.
Btw it takes like 45-60 minutes to bake a potato, which is bloody long to wait (a hungry man is an angry man) and it's a major waste of electricity.

Actually there is a faster way, which is, you partially cook the potatoes in boiling water first before baking.
However imo, the taste will be different of course. Not as fragrant bah.

Plain potato, baked fresh and topped with a scoop of butter.

Tried another variation of baked potato too.
Like, some times they sell those baked potato with fillings, or they actually mix additional stuffs into the potato itself for extra taste.

Would have tried cheese but too bad i didn't buy any cheese LOLS.

So i did a really simple variation.

Cut oven-baked potato into half. Scoop out the flesh into a bowl.

Mash the cooked potato and mix with butter.
Fill back the potato shell, and put back into oven again to bake till golden.

Tadah~ Looks appetizing to you, i hope. =D

Yum yum. Buttery taste is always nice.
And yes, the resulting potato would be more moist and soft.

Managed to bring home ikea shelves on public transport with much of my effort.
It's not really, say heavy, but it's sort of big (as in tall and skinny).

We saw a fuse-beads giraffe in a shopping mall, jasmine liked it. But i told her not to purchase cus it was overpriced, and i can make a exact same one for her during the holidays.
And tadah, here it is~

Had some time deciding whether the LEFT or RIGHT space planning of the storage shelves in the storeroom is better.
Eventually settled on the RIGHT one.
Cus LEFT one has a narrow path to walk, and if you put things that exceed the metal shelves' width, stuffs will be poking out, making it even harder to walk inside.
Anyway, now the storeroom is still full of unpacked boxes at the moment, they didn't bother to pack zzzzz grr. Can't even walk in with boxes stacked till ceiling.

Bought a meow ear stud for myself LOLS.
But i don't like it being orange leh. And the size is sort of too big.

You can add lemon zest (grate the skin of lemon) into your cup of cereal drink.
It smells refreshing, gives a unique texture on top of cereal bits, tastes pleasant and most of all, it is nutritious, namely the vitamin c. Thumbs up.

That's my usual ikea cup btw. (Lols i'm always stuck to ikea accessories, will see more later.)

Walao like that cost me 40 bucks. -_-

Maybe ntuc fairprice should let me be their youth ambassador, a title like "supermarket queen" or stuffs like that, since i always shop and spend at major supermarts LOLS.

I like to see new stocks that i've not seen before much in this island, and i like the air-conditioned and comfortable environment. Not aunty yet though.

The gardenia walnut country loaf is really great, though it cost double the price of normal bread loaves.

Very vibrantly-coloured emergency exit spotted on a sbs bus.

Was getting bus to go home at the interchange. Bus arrived, i ran to the berth from another berth. Boarded bus and realised my cat disappeared.
T_T Must have dropped while running.
Alighted one stop after and walked backed to the interchange (already midnight zzz thankfully still got bus to go home later) to see if i can find the cat.

Found it at the edge of the road just below the pavement, in a puddle of rainwater.

Wet and black.

Brought home and gave a wash.
Hung it on the window grill to dry.
But it's scary to have a pair of eyes staring at you while you sleep.

So turned it over. LOLS.

Anyway it's lost for good liao at the moment. I dropped it somewhere again and couldn't get it back anymore.
Tried to search for another cat but to no avail, don't know why the cat accessories sold in many retail shops are like ugly lo, zzz.
Can't find any cute ones for the time being. If got cute ones please tell me where to get zzz.

Btw the bamboo blind in the above picture is bought at daiso. So nice LOLS.

Father bought a lovebird, exactly the same species that we had a year ago (that one flew away liao within one week).

Black mark on the beak of a lovebird indicates that the bird is young, below three months old, that's what i found out from the internet.
I thought the beak was dirty LOLS.
When the lovebird is in adulthood, there will be no more black mark.
Which is true, now no more black mark liao, and very noisy also.

Was getting plastic bags for making and giving away gingerbread men for xmas.

The image clearly shows glossy clear plastic bags, however it's actually those matt ones inside the box WALAO EH.
Although this is cheap, but i felt bloody cheated. Cus i had to re-search again. Sibei not happy.

Anyway managed to find the glossy clear bags at skp, but they sell in large amount hence not cheap, and i seriously don't need so many bags zzz. So i bought ziplock bag instead, cus it is sold in a much smaller amount.

The bird was placed in the kitchen, so it kept kaypoh watching me making gingerbread man.
Now its new home is a much bigger cage in the living room though.

To be honest, i used a pre-mixed package.
I actually decided to make gingerbread man only after i saw it on the ntuc shelf.
Using ingredients from scratch (instead of pre-mixed) actually also can, but hor a lot of wastage leh.
What am i gonna do with the leftovers of various kinds of flour and stuffs? I dont bake regularly.
And the old weighing scale already disappeared so i have to buy a new one if i wanna make from scratch.
That's too much to handle when i already need to purchase stuffs like wooden mixer spoon (although technically that can be considered optional), wooden roller, baking sheet, cookie cutter, cooling rack, etc.
So after weighing the cost, wastage and time factor, it's making time~

Recipe only calls for the addition of an egg and some butter.

Add in the cookie mix.

Mix well.

Roll out dough and cut into desired shapes.

Cus my dough is slightly too wet (due to the gradual melting of butter), dough get stretched and out-of-shape when i transferred over to the baking sheet.

Must be completely cool before storing.

More batches of cookies. More distortions ha ha ha they look like they are doing poses of aerobics or what.

This batch kinda chaotah cus thickness of dough was uneven and oven temperature isn't constant inside the old oven.

Waiting for the icing to dry is kinda a nightmare though.
Took hours to dry and i couldn't leave the tray on the table for them to dry (ants would surely come for the feast).
What i did was to hold the tray in front of the fan. And it still took bloody long to dry.
That explains why the cookies' texture is more cakey instead of crispy.

Lols saw this at ntuc and it was the last one so i just had to buy (slightly overprice =C) cus it's cute.
Anyway one month later, i saw this at artfriend zzzzz.

Last minute xmas shopping at ntuc is rewarded with this cute stocking.
Couldn't find suitable boxes/bags earlier on. Just the right right size and theme for the goodies to give zhili for xmas exchange (which happens every year automatically since a long time ago).
This stocking is packed with goodies like sweets, chocolates, facial masks, lotion, earrings, xmas card, gingerbread man etc.

Xmas card, i like what i did to the postage lols.

3M pull-and-remove adhesive and hooks are really good, haven't even dropped yet, just like what they advertised for.
Tried many foam tapes (including the 3M foam one), but all dropped.
It's not really that expensive. Just cost a bit more that the regular ones, very worth the price for the won't-drop quality.

I need strong adhesive to the hooks up for my wardrobe organizer (which is yay from daiso again).
And the wardrobe organizer houses my little items like belts, undergarments and socks.

When i wear a one-piece high-waist dress with belt, people think that they are separate-garments.

And i actually long figured out that i'm a left-faced person when taking pictures. Just that i haven't really compared.
And two pictures below happen to prove this theory though.

Left face seems so much better, that's what i always find so.
It has to do with my face being asymmetrical and hairstyle's parting.

Birdbird giving sly look.

Lovebirds don't normally close their eyelids (which is sort of a furless membrane) when they sleep.
Birds normally sleep and wake according to sun rise and sunset (just think about rooster).
So when birds as kept as pets, lights do affect their sleeping behaviour.
When you have lights off, they tend to sleep. And vice versa.
But in our homes we often have to make it bright most of the time (natural lighting during day and artificial lighting for night) so we can see.
But birds won't automatically sleep in a lit environment, since their body mechanism takes the cue that "oh light = sunshine = daytime = wake". So with shorter sleeping time, they get sleepy and the need to sleep arises.
So they see the need to sleep even with lights on to replenish for their lost sleep. They close their eyelids only when environment is bright.

Btw lovebirds often have double chins which is so cute LOLS.

Another behavioural characteristic of birds.
They preen/groom themselves, similar theory to a cat licking fur.
But this particular bird likes to clean its feathers just before bedtime.

Finally saw the bottle-recycling machine in singapore. It is located in ntuc fairprice at city square mall (farrer park), the acclaimed singapore's first eco-mall.

Such machine is common in many countries, except singapore. It exchanges your used bottle for some credits for shopping. Haven't tried it yet though.

Cheap korean canned drinks to try.
The chocolate one (right) is really nice if you like milo, however the rice one (left) is totally awful in my opinion.
(Had to force myself very hard to finish the weirdly-sweet rice drink, cus i don't like wastage.)

I collect a lot of nonsense, had to throw rubbish out when moving.
My facial washes in chronological order. Recent-most at the right, and earliest at left.
From left: Za (with micro beads), missha (acerola cherry), nivea visage (jade seah at the sticker lols), thefaceshop (lemon) and the body shop (seaweed).

My reviews (may be inaccurate and subjective).
Za (official info) facial cleansing foam: with vitamin E granules, used during my mid-teenage, the massaging microbeads felt good, not so sure about oil/pimple control, at least no major breakouts, what do you think of my face (in photos) during younger days?
Missha (official info) botanic garden purifying foam cleanser acerola: seriously pleasant and sweet cherry scent, with very fine grains for scrub, white and foamy, oil/pimple control unsure.
Nivea visage (unofficial info) deep pore control foam: very typical foam, slightly harsh and oil returns after some hours, okay but can do better.
Thefaceshop (official info) herb day cleansing foam purifying lemon: not efficient for me, pimple control not good, disturbingly smells like washing powder for laundry instead of fresh lemon scent, seriously doubt the "natural" in it.
The body shop (official info) seaweed deep cleansing facial wash: slightly cooling gel, feels light and comfortable, efficiency of oil/pimple control so-so, insufficient for me though.

Now using simple (official info) moisturising foaming facial wash for the second tube, gotta switch brands after this. Skin getting immunity and harder to control pimple at the moment. Too weak for a gel-wash meant for dedicate skin (although i like the fact that i can easily wash the skin near my eyes without worry) instead of oil control.

Next shall maybe try skinfood (a bit overpriced though if not wrong, according my memory) or use back some old brands i've used years ago.

Well, maybe it's not the facial washes' fault. Probably my skin has aged and my workload has increased tremendously in recent years, with the lack of sleep and stuffs.

Packing packing. I couldn't bear to box up my flobby, too precious lols. Took by hand to new place, instead of sending through mover truck although flobby is quite big. Laptop also bringing it personally for fear of losing it, and just can't imagine how many heavy boxes squashing it. -__- Bloody heavy cus gotta carry my bro's com over as well, since he was in tekong that time.

Was wearing old/dirty/spoilt shoes since there was a lot of mess when packing.
Next day presentation assessment, it was the only pair of covered shoes i had with me then. -.-
My other shoes were all packed inside tons of boxes cannot find in short term zzzzz.
Btw that's shoes for secondary school LOLS. Whichever pure-black areas you see are seriously holes.

A very-tired wanteng fell asleep after lunch. And people started to put paper flowers all around for her to rest in peace, with many trying to take pictures without being caught.

But hor~ There were only like one or two cashiers open, the queue was bloody long and i need to rush for my last bus.

Now the situation is getting better than ever. They fixed the problem soon after, by having about five cashiers open during weekend midnights. =D Totally solved the crazy midnight queues. Happy happy.

Cheers to them for reacting fast to issues, unlike the two bus operators in singapore.
Being monopolised, we had to take these buses bobian.

Having two bus operators doesn't create a competition for service improvement, it's still a monopoly since we often only can take a certain bus for convenience.
How to make competition for them sia, duo-policy ya right.
LOLS if you do read thetemasekreview, they always say the next one please vote wisely... Afterall it still boils down to how they treat this island's "world-class" (very doubtful) transportation for commoners like me and you.

Btw Qatar is a rich nation in the middle east, with citizens as minorities. From what i last read, it is said that 36% of people in singapore are foreigners. It means about three people you see on the streets, one of them is foreign to us.

Anyway.

A talk by toshiyuki kita in lasalle. One of his works include the sharp aquos tv which everybody knows. Some other works can be found here.

He is a sincere-looking old man with plentiful of smiles. There was a translator while he spoke in japanese. He is also not very tall, but seems to be rather friendly.

I did figure out that i am one who shouldn't really attend talks, cus i am unable to pick up much. And i have limited patience too. There is a tendency to find talks boring. This is a personal characteristic problem. I prefer activities that are more hands-on. =C

Wasted money on some cakes origami set LOLS.

Lg suggested trying potato farmland, and hence we headed to yishun (lols such a random location).
In the picture from top left: blackcurrant drink, cheddar pops, cheese sticks and ham 'n' cheese baked potato.

Not totally awesome, can eat though. But location is too far and inconvenient to go a second time.
Nice place for those with potato and cheese cravings. Rather affordable too. Cosy little shop.
The website does a great job by making the food in their interactive menu look tempting.

I looked like crap, but i kinda like how lg looked there lols.

The pet beds nowadays are really bloody cute. Makes me go "awww" leh.

These cookies i bought from ntuc is actually not bad. It is made with similar folding method as the croissant, causing layers of flakes and crisps in the pastry, as shown on the right image (albeit being not clear enough).

Dug out some skirts which i haven't been wearing for the past year(s).

Forgot the flavours le, but a reference to the above picture shows that i've got strawberry mousse (top right) and chocolate mousse (bottom right). Remembered that i had something on passionfruit (should be the bottom middle one) and hazelnut (somewhere).

Taste-wise okie-okie only. But enough to make me happy, lols. I like dainty cakes.

It will be a long one. A lengthy and sort-of long-winded october post, you've been warned.

October post was delayed due to my dear computer entering coma, and thankfully acer hospital revived it.
Okie wrong word to use, cannot be "revived" since it's not dead yet. It had a major organ transplant though, more like some heart or brain operation. Replaced the faulty motherboard. -_-

Content mainly revolving around furniture design studio progresses and some food.
Also consists of sentosa reconnaissance (better known as recee) trips in preparation of planning gb camp, moving house and extremes (including a very huge mushroom slice in soup, a bigger-than-typical housefly, a huge fire alarm - the size of my face, an ultra-awful macaron and some illegible chinese character).
Surprisingly, cat-images are kept to the bare minimal, really. No worries.

Here it goes.

(There're over a hundred images if i'm not wrong.) You could call it a busy month, literally.

The totally-fabulous chicken tendergrill mushroom swiss burger was back (like once every year or so)! Supposedly very tender, juicy and yummy.

This time round, the burger wasn't as yummy as the previous times, to be honest. It's below expectation, yup.
And i received a crooked/slanted burger LOLS that's very much like mcd's trademark leh, with mcd's lettuce anyhow scattered in the box/wrapper.

(Sorry for the twit grammar, lols. I kinda despise people using apparent poor grammar, but ironically i like to use "me *singular verb*" instead of "i *plural verb*" although i know this is stupidly/childishly wrong ha ha.)

Some study models of chair covering - furniture design studio.
The hexagon one is obviously an ideal choice (a bit like honeycomb) but it was impossible to fold an acceptable one due to the material's thickness.

Korean spicy sotong on hotplate. Yayyay got kimchi.

Anyway the sotong came, looking almost similar to their plastic display set (no images taken). And the texture is kinda too rubbery. -_- A bit hard to swallow LOLS, need to chew very long.

It has been a long time i haven't taken pics of flobby, the huge huggable smiley tofu.

Yummy sambal sotong with rice and egg. $5 for the big serving and free soup. It's the same stall as the salad prawn in the previous post. Lols but the sotong they gave kinda too much sia (i'm one who will finish up all the food even if i'm full).

Erm. An extra huge slice of mushroom in my soup of ramen. I was imagining the actual size of the whole mushroom before slicing.
It's quite rare for this sight, cus i often eat the ramen there, and have never seen them using mushroom of such size before.

But so bloody cuteee (not the squirels/bunnies but the houses, furnishings and items).

It's the same obssession like lg's $100+ gundam kit, zzz. A typical sylvanian mansion costs $100+ too, zzz. Crazily-priced toys.

Lee cooper now has so much more shoes than one year ago.
I have the red shoe as highlighted. A while ago, there were only two designs (mine and the normal sneakers) then.
Thought the boat shoes (as highlighted at the bottom four) were cute, but tried already and didn't purchase cus i found them uncomfortable at the ankle.

A very smart cat found a comfy bed at the eunos wet market.

First recee at sentosa for planning of gb camp.
Aiming to visit some free sites generally, no specific fixed direction yet.

The roller coaster at resorts world universal studio is almost up!
Was excited but the ticket costs about $60, so can forget it liao zzz overpriced walao.

We were amused by the "please do not JUMP OFF the moving tram". Like wth lols?

HAHAHA anyway realised that we can be seen inside the mirror.

But this is more likely to be a golden labrador due to the short fur. I'm not very into dog breeds, so that's just a guess.

Sitting at the pavilion at ulu tanjong beach for a snack. So much nicer than east coast of course.

And... We noticed a lot of wedding couples and photographers taking wedding photographs. -.- Really too many, you see those white gowns in the pic. "The most tranquil beach" as dubbed by sentosa website, is flooded with couples in wedding suits, LOLS.

The couples and photographers hurried to get a good spot to take some good sunset photographs.

LOLS singapore has limited spots with nice scenary, too baddd. Everybody takes photographs at the same place. -_-

We tried. Actually very hard and time consuming. So... No.

The screens at jurongeast station are still incomplete (even until december, i went there recently), walao it has been months. Pasir ris' screens are long fully functional already.

I ate their cakes before, were not that bad. But the macarons really cannot-make-it lar. Horrible.

Can't wait to watch alvin and the chipmunks 2~ From the trailers, it looks so much better than the first one in 2007. I like the chipettes, they dance better than beyonce and sing better than katy perry, omg LOLSSS! Bloody cute.

But it will only be out on 24th dec, and i'm only free like 28th or after. -_-

The supposedly-september post. Two months belated.

Late is always better than never right?
Was too damn bloody busy. Now it's relaxation time.

Typically consisted of term 1's assessments.

Way to school. Heavy showers, flooded quite a depth.

Shoes totally soaked. Clothing and hair were wet too.
Compare the first picture and this, you can't even see the "traffic white line" here.

In the midst of furniture design studio project: wooden mould ready for pvc vacuum-forming.

Result was totally not ideal, there were folded skirtings at the side (already trimmed off, can't exactly see them clearly here).

We were eating at the chicken rice place, while discussing the content of coke.
I believed it contains caramel to produce the brown colouration.
Upon looking up the ingredient list, this was the first time that we notice THE BARCODE IS "WOOOO"!

Very simple packaged fruit juices spotted in the supermart.
Cute...!
But overpriced. Hmpf.
Hence, i didn't buy.

The very funny (in terms of character) big furry cat in the neighbourhood. (Anyway i've moved house already, as of end-october.)
Whenever i walk past its house, it will stare at me, then run a little, stare at me again, run a little again. -_- Bloody cute, and it looks totally like a carpet when it's lying down. And i know this breed of cat is definitely quite expensive.

My group is the white a3 poster with a drawing pen dipped in a cuppa coffee, with the topic "a designer's muse".
Okie my fault for the badly photoshopped pen-coffee combo, cus it was done in a rush. Pen was standing unnaturally and awkwardly, i know i know zzz.

We were eating at the al fresco area at the canteen, while being entertained by some birds having a food fight.

Two mynas were fighting over a drumstick!!! It was rather funny. I just had to take the picture!

Last presentation before the one-week break. A group ppt presentation on design & culture (chosen topic was "oriental").
This was something extra, a mini exhibition. Since our definition of the orient includes korea, japan, china, vietnam, etc, we had the items on display. LOLS lecturer didn't really bother checking it out though.

Actually in my opinion, the people of oriental is very similar. The culture influences one another.
Basically, if you place a korean, japanese, chinese and vietnamese man in a row, with them having the same hairstyle and clothing, it's very hard to identify who is what race. They all look about the same.
Similar skin colour.
And the special thing about them is that they specialize in using chopsticks too. (Me likes chopsticks yay.)

The kopitiam foodcourt near campus at bras basah (known as "plaza by the park") has a fabulous stall, despite me being always skeptic about overpriced foodcourts.
But at $5, my salad prawns with rice is really fab!!! There's even a fried egg, cucumber slices and free soup. Super huge serving with the WAAHH factor from other people (not because the rice is a lot, but the prawns they served me is really too many), had expected a stingy amount, but it wasn't~~~ Quite big prawns somemore. And quite yummy tooooo.

It's a first mensiversary gift from lg, so it's quite significant to me.

Lady boss bought me chocolate-coated marshmellows from australia.
I think it's not easy to find marshmellows with dark chocolate and coconut flakes in singapore. Even in candy empire, it's always typically milk chocolate being used.

Finally august. Not that i'm very free to post, just that now stuck and (hence having) nothing to do in class.

Each book is smaller than a typical finger. So bloody tiny, i'll never have such patience to do them.

Ton-ned overnight at laura's hostel, were all turning pretty much crazy due to lack of sleep and continuous work.

But surprisingly my eyesight did not worsen leh, upon a new eye checkup.
I was damn lols when my eye checker was a young man who looks like my favourite politician.

Actually this one is not really funny, in my opinion.
It can be easily done, like let's say by waving something interesting behind the camera, then the cats' vision will follow (they are naturally-curious/kaypoh, creatures mah).
Probably what's interesting, is the number of cats employed in this video (mm i counted about eight). Quite a big sum.

Aiyoh sleepy then go sleep! LOLS i seriously don't understand why cats need to do that.
You see... We, homo sapiens, normally doze off because we can't afford to spend the time to lie on a bed and have a proper sleep. We have many commitments. Cats don't need to work to meet deadlines, they don't need to worry if they missed their stops on the public bus, etc.

Yes yes, no posts for very long. I have july and august to catch up with, i know i know.

This is the july post, although it's already september now.
Finally have a bit of free time, after some bloody hectic stressful weeks.

Oh ya, a big joke at the end of the post, i just had to laugh at it so badly.

Bought some boxes from ikea. Yay. My crafty stuffs packed inside.

Dug my old stuffs. Can compare leh, LOLS we looked cuter in the past, too bad.
Hahahahs my bro had the "twinkle twinkle little star" on his shirt...

Finally got to return to popeyes for their super-yummy whipped potatoes.
Tried their fried fish (instead of their signature fried chicken, which i thought was so-so), was surprisingly refreshing. Unlike those hard exterior of long john's fried fish, this is very soft on the outside and juicy inside.

IMO, i'm sorry to say that the mcd's cinnamon melts is totally not nice! LOLS.
(Btw there is no grammar error above with the "is" bcus "cinnamon melts" is the name of one single dish, that's what i decided. Lols really what, technically correct though it looks weird.)

It's way too absurd, i thought. I always liked cinnamon buns, but this was disappointing. It felt like some microwaved frozen-tiny-plain-breads, with some white icing and brown cinnamon syrup - pathetic HA HA. Overly sweet too. What i was looking for, was nice and fragrance bread baked with cinnamon (not syrup simply poured over it).
Okie not mcd's fault. My bad okie? For looking at the wrong thing. Since many people claimed it's nice. *skeptically shudders*

I've figured out a good way to remove stems from shiitake mushrooms.
Somehow there's a way to twist it, and the stem will come out very clean.

The cathay is good, it has darn lots of couple seats leh. More than 20 pairs of them can sit there, walao.
Watched harry potter (half blood prince, 6th book). I have complains on the movie. Mmm.
The movie is misleading, cus people who don't read the books don't understand the plot and the connection between other series.
For me, i have read all the hp books long ago and like the whole story (7 books) a lot, the plot is deep and meaningful, the final book links everything up together.
And i find that, the movie has a number of crucial parts different from the original story leh, wtf.
It also has wrong focus, too much irrelevant scenes that waste time (2+ hours, already too short to contain the whole storyline, they still wanna waste it).

Ha ha sorry for whining.

I love my cat.

There was this brochure thing introducing haagan dazs' new apricot ice cream flavour on the table, as shown below.

(I don't care that she's in the same institution as me, but we're from totally different departments/campuses anyway.)

I am one who never appreciates the need of having education for fashion.

So we went on to criticise how the dress is not exactly nice and the shoes don't match the dress, stuffs like that, talking from a non-fashion-orientated peeps' point-of-view.

Suddenly, i began to spot some very weird stuffs.

We discussed how the fingers look weird somehow. Never mind about this, this is minor.

OH WTF this is major. Still can't spot it? Look at the toes.

That big toe of her right leg (left of image) is placed wrongly... It should be inside, not outside. Refer to your right leg's toes.
Walao eh fatal mistake leh, sibei xiasuay leh, nobody actually noticed this when they allow this to be mass published???

The fast food double-syndrome is back again! This time it's back on a smaller scale, with only one of their burgers on focus.

Yes, it's between the same old mcdonald's and burgerking again.

It's aka what's with the huge and overpriced burgers promoted at the same time by two different companies?

It's a small maltese with a bigger american shorthair.

American shorthair~ Must be bloody expensive? Cus all american shorthairs are pedigreed cats, btw.
But seems like it's not a real-expensive breed in the usa (since it's not really unique in terms of characteristics), unlike the longhaired ragamuffin and the super-rare egyptian mau. However, it wouldn't be cheap to get one in singapore, anyway.

But i do not like all sorts of felines or all breeds of cats.
For instance, i find two particular breeds extremely disturbing.

Seriously, they freak me out.

Bengal: The leopard look-alike (due to cross-breeding) is the most expensive cat in the world. Can't help feeling that it'll chew raw meat in huge chunks, although i know that they require no special diet at all. -_- Just like normal cat, but looks too fierce leh. It is a large breed, probably due to it's genes.
Sphinx: Hairless. Sorry it's really weird and freaky in my opinion, what more can i say?

What breeds i find interesting?

Scottish fold (lg's favourite~): It has this comical fat-face and eyes-too-round, which initially i thought some idiot went to photoshop all the images at the wiki page. -___- Main characteristic also includes the folded-ears.

Sorry, they are borned to look funny. LOLS.

Okie, still excited even though i've already known that the train's interior is very similar to north-east purple line (cus they are produced from the same manufacturer), it's just that the circle-line train has only three carriages instead of the normal six.

Went work. And decided to get some toppings (for my brownies) before heading home. It was already rather late. Really hard to buy stuffs at that kind of time.

LOLS there were two mini chocolate swiss rolls waiting for me at home. Though i've made my stand to ma for the n-th time that i do not like swiss rolls at all.
Anyway i may be picky, but never fussy (gonna be my personal quote very soon yay). So i will still eat things that i may not like. Lols i try to reduce wastage most of the time.

Like since most neighbourhood shops were closing, the first place i went was 7-11.
There wasn't any small ice cream tubs other than the milo, so i bought it since it taste good enough on its own even if i don't use it for topping the brownie.

After that i went to try luck at a half-closed minimart, which had a really cheap ice cream of unknown brand, but wth it's only $1.60 man zzz. Image below.
And btw the cheapo ice cream tasted just like wall's.

Here's what i did.

Start of with a slice of brownie.
(The first time i ate a triangle brownie cus it's normally of rectilinear forms. But triangle ones look more special wor. =D)

Then, add the vanilla ice cream.
Couldn't find my ice cream scoop somehow, so bobian used a plastic soup ladle, hence the shape isn't so nice but that doesn't matter lar lols.

Added some gummy bears on top for fanciful purposes.
It was hard to take this shot because the bears keep sliding down. -_- And the ice cream was melting soon.

Actually it's not a good idea to put gummy bears. The coldness will make the bears harden and not chewy.

Lg's donation for spca, which i got to choose a keychain to keep. And a very cute mos burger miniature from a capsule machine LOLS. The burger was so overpriced that the both things above cost the same zzz.

And btw, no. I've always disliked spca for some reasons since two years ago. I do not agree with the way they handle things and probably their policies.

Bro treated pizzahut delivery for lunch. (Lols like somehow, every year i get pizzahut delivery for bday zzzzz.)

08jul09, museum-outings with old pal yay.

Anyway, i find singapre art museum (sam) unimpressive and uninspiring, as compared to national museum of singapore (nms). Although the lose-out in terms of architecture is not their fault (nat-museum really has the wow-factor in terms of architecture), the exhibits in the sing-art galleries is kind of disappointing. Mmm...

Always wanted to try the mini crab snacks, but never did. However, it appeared as one of the gifts yay. I've always wondered how would it taste - and does it break the teeth to eat it? LOLS.

And especially my zodiac is crab (cancer), somehow it's weird that i like crabs (includes both drawing and eating crab).

Cartoon crabs are sadden by the fact that humans eat them.
BTW, this illustration is incorrect. As in, it depicts crabs with 6 normal legs and 2 claws.
The truth is that, crabs have 8 normal legs and 2 claws; this is a very common confusion.

I've heard before something like: you can tell the gender from the abdomen, it's a male if it's sharp, and a female if it's rounded.
I found two kinds of tummy in the packet of crabs.
Initially, i thought one must be the male, one must be the female.

However, after checking some info from here/here/here, i might be wrong. The sharper abdomen could possibly be a immatured female crab, since a male abdomen should be much more narrower like a bunsen burner (lols).

Wa, so the whole packet might be made of all female crabs (matured and immatured ones).

Btw forgot to mention how the mini crabs tasted like.

Eh, it's very very very similar to the m'sia ikan satay, in terms of taste and texture.

12jul09, exactly one week belated.

A bday treat at haagan dazs by colleague. A decent friend who can talk a lot with.

Funny sia. He was telling the staff that it was my birthday today, and hinting if we can get something special like extra ice cream or what.

Partially lying, mmm. Ya this was meant for my birthday, but my bday was already over for seven days, LOLS.

Anyway we didn't get extra ice cream. We got a surprise wafer fan biscuit, with "happy birthday" written in chocolate syrup, like lols sia.
But anyway it was on the wrong dish, but the "happy bday" text is facing me still~ Lols.

He got the chocoholic, while i had the berry cool (a very zzz name).
LOLS cus only took picture when we had eaten one-quarter, the wafer was already gone into the stomach (gave the "happy" to him, while i took the "birthday" ha).
So i used the power of graphic editting LOLS, to show how it was supposed to look like. It was on the whipped cream.

Lols due to occupational habit 职业病, the whipped cream looks very much like used tissue blob!

11jun09, went tekong for a visit.

Very tempted to take pictures on the island. But i managed to control, though they weren't that strict since there were some parents taking pictures too.

So, i did not have any tekong island pictures, like lols.
I have some ferry's pictures though.

The journey there.
Took quite a long time to reach, that made me suspect the ferry is really slow. I can't really judge the speed because i was sitting at the inner seat, not window seat.
And my cabin happened to have a faulty greyscale tv LOLS (refer the image on top), but hey i was very surprised that they use tvmobile just like sbs bus leh.

Btw i was really amused when the 3rd sergeant started to introduce us the package that enlistees will receive. What's funny was the uniform.
I always like to joke the new uniform as "the pixellated one" cus it has all the squares that look like you zoomed in too much on a computer.
But guess what, they really use the term "pixellated" to call their uniform. I was like wth, lols?

Return trip - i took the window seat. And observed the waves on the water surface. I concluded that the ferry is indeed slowww, cus the water surface looks similar to the times when i was kayaking...

I was wondering how did the buses get onto the island just for our sake.
And i happen to witness this.
So this is how they easily transport huge vehicles to-and-fro across the water.

Btw the tekong visit is really not recommended for elderly in my opinion. Cus there are some stairs to climb, some areas to walk, a really hot weather and 3rd sergeant tour guides speaking english.

Since it was a weekday afternoon, not all parents can take leave from work.
Hence, there were many grannies and grandpas. They didn't understand what those guides were talking about anyway, for many people of the older generation were not english-educated. And it can be physically-straining for them too.

Saw this cat while looking for a new place. (Will be moving place in four month's time.)
But there's something a bit weird with this cat. Don't believe me? See the next image.

Smelt a burnt smell one midnight. There was a fire below. My neighbour's kids came back with empty pails, they helped to extinguished fire at the dustbin near letterboxes.

And the red rhino (mini fire engine) came. But fire was already out, so they tried to park their vehicle. Police car came soon after, but there wasn't enough parking space.

18jun09, journey-ful day. Since i was around the central-town area, might as well explore around and enjoy my day.

Some bread to fill tummy before venturing.

I've always like cinnamon roll/bun since young, but was kind of surprised that this cinnamon roll has white cream that looked more like muffin lo. -_- But anyway tried it. The cinnamon roll is at the bottom, but the white cream is good, has this refreshing lemon-cheesy taste.

Some bread with some un-remember-able name. But actually you can see it even in breadtalk or fourleaves in a not-as-cute form.
But the taste is not bad, cus it doesn't have the sickening bread texture yay.

A croissant which doesn't have the texture and taste of a regular croissant. Hence the name is woissant or something like that (zzz).

Seriously, i can't help feeling that my four-year old phone camera is good.
(I mean it's not that fabulous as compared to a real camera of at least 3megapixel and above of course. But it's indeed good for a rather-old phone model, don't you agree?)

I'll always remember this clarkequay mrt exit, which i die-die will never use again.
Really old friend edson and jd led me out with this seemingly endless flights of stairs up, some months ago.
LOLS it's not that it reminds people of those "endless staircase" scenes in ghost movies.
BUT seriously, the stairs are really a little too much to climb, especially when i'm not prepared to workout my leg muscles at all.

What's so special about the cavenagh bridge you might wonder.
It's so very interesting, ha ha.
I badly wanted to see the singapura cat stone sculptures with my own eyes, after seeing so many images on the net. And i also know there's this ancient sign thing there.
Makes me excited.

The two of the three tallest buildings (280m) in singapore in shown in this image: OUB centre and UOB plaza one.

Singapore has a maximum height limit at 280m in due to aviation reasons, because our land is too small (hence changi airport is too near).

And 280m is considered short in the world liao. The current tallest building in the world has already hit 800m high, a rather crazy height (yes, btw the building has 56 lifts, wtf so many) and it's in dubai. Too much money to spend?

Lols my idol leh. Because his birthday is just one day after mine. And his death day on is my birthday. -_- Somehow, he passed away on the day just before his birthday.

With a lot of help by disturbing lg on the phone to check my location, i finally found him (raffles, not lg).

Yay, though i expected the statue to be white.

I was expecting a white statue beside the river, as i always see on the net, supposedly marking his landing site.
The one i found was along empress rd, in front of victoria theatre; it is a bronze statue, the first-original one though.

I will be back some day to visit the white marble statue. =)

Part of toolbox.

So happy, finally bought the swarovski starfish-shaped crystal.
It's the craft version, so it's much cheaper than the boutique series.
Shiny shiny. =D

Ate at the royal's cafe. Price is considered reasonable.

My grilled chicken with rice is edible but not impressive enough for a second try.
I'd rather eat at aston with that kind of price.
All i liked was only the rice, but not the meat/sauce. -_-

The cakes there are really cheap though. My stomach don't have a lot of space to enjoy their cakes, so bought them back as takeaway.
My american carrot cake and dark chocolate truffle were rather tasty, seriously. But not extremely nice. Definitely good enough to eat the second, third and fourth time though.
I like the walnut-ty lemon cream on top of the carrot cake.
(Normally i'm quite picky about cakes and ice cream. I'm very particular one, in terms of food, in case you don't know me yet, ha ha. Although i'll eat almost everything, i'll judge them stringently.)

My triple nut ice cream or something like that can't rmb the name. Was fairly decent, but not fabulous.

This is no good, too much instant food. Bad... I shall place some of the items back to the shelves and get other stuffs.

The old changi theatre site at bedok central has been demolished and is said to be building a new shopping mall soon.

Spotted a chio blue bottle at cold storage, hence bought it.
(Even though the so-called dew water tasted like newater, the bottle is nice... Hhahahahs.)

My blue hello hydration: orchid and coconut milk conditioner is almost finished, saw this new red long term relationship: raspberry and satin on the shelf and decided to give it a try. =D

Late-night chocolate craves/energy boosters.

This must be the most disgusting-looking yam ice blended i've ever purchased, lols!
The colour looked more like blue pen ink.
I've always been drinking pinkish-purple pastel-coloured yam bubble tea.
But this tasted super like wafer biscuits. -_______- Or milo powder. Zzzzz.
Weird, and too sweet.

This greek salad is really kinda nice leh, even though it looks messy. I like the feta cheese very much man. Feta feta~~~

1) She who threatens - like, "if you don't come, i'll slit my wrist."

Wrist is definitely not an efficient way to commit suicide, by the way. Why not the throat?

2) She who expects a male to pay for everything and plan for everything, including valentine's day and her birthday.

Apparently this is no longer those ancient era whereby women are not allowed to receive education and go out to work. According to statistics, men earn only about $200 more per month as compared to their female counterparts, on the average. And guys need to eat too, why should they be responsible for every single damned thing?

3) She who imagines she is a princess.

Unless you ride a white horse and own a shiny sword with a medieval shield.

4) You first got to know her in some red-light district.

You don't want to know how many 50-year-old uncles fell in love with her too.

5) She who looks/sounds exactly like your mom.

Simply because you don't need another mom.

Five types of guys you should never date/get together with.

1) He restricts you, no matter what you wear, eat and do.

Unless you enjoy being a ~~POW~~ POL (prisoner-of-love).

2) He who mocks at your weight, intelligence, behaviour and whatsoever. Saying in a jokingly manner is excluded.

He has no respect. So he shouldn't be respected too.

3) He who expects that females should be capable enough to do anything/everything on their own.

We do enjoy receiving some help from men too. Biologically in general, due to sexual dimorphism, the female body is less strong than the male body. (That's one reason why females are only required to do inclined version for pull-ups for NAPFA instead of the real pull-ups for males.)

4) He who enjoys PDA.

Unless you want to get STOMPed.

5) He who auditions in competitions with a pair of yellow swimming trunks.

The long long long post i've yet to redo. LOLS a bit feddup.

Nowadays can't concentrate anyway, like half-heartedly revamping an old site, half-heartedly preparing post contents. Only a pathetic odd-looking animated flash banner is up, still no ideas with the general interface layout yet.

At least those image hosts get working again, after so many hours of being cocked-up. I saw so many awful "x-es" everywhere, zz lols.

I typed super long already... And by luck with some lagging bug, 90% of my content disappeared suddenly. (Blogger has the autosave function which autosaves your post every few minutes. Hence, it immediately autosaves right after my contents goes missing wtf.)

So my save-function is useless~ Cus the autosave overwrites it anyway. Sibei sian.

No way to retrieve back, i had lots of texts leh.
